Abstract:
Abstract Knowledge about genetics is essential to build a society capable of participating in socioscientific and ethical debates. However, this subject remains difficult for students, making it necessary to develop new educational strategies, such as gamification. Thus, two main objectives are established in this work: (a) to design and evaluate BreakoutEDU, a gamified activity to improve understanding of the content of gene expression; and (b) to study the emotions triggered by this activity among students. Using questionnaires and observation templates, the implementation of BreakoutEDU is evaluated in two groups of first‐year high school students (15 and 10 students). The results are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Bearing in mind the limitations of this study, it is concluded that the designed BreakoutEDU could support gamification as a good strategy to contextualize and approach the abstract content of gene expression. Moreover, the activity could maintain a balance between time, difficulty and students' skills, encourage teamwork and trigger mainly positive emotions. Keywords:

It is becoming more difficult to provide health care that meets the needs of patients within tight budget constraints. This article suggests that one way forward is to channel the energies of people more constructively to work as teams. Some definitions are shown for teams and teamwork, and four benefits suggested of effective teamwork: learning and development, resource management, task performance and communications. In each of these four areas, examples are given from the international world of health care of how teamwork can be achieved. Finally, it is concluded that teamwork can be difficult, but that it is worth pursuing.

Teamwork is getting more and more popular in school. It has many advantages that are suitable for the new requirements of the schools of the 21st century and the pandemic situation caused by COVID-19. One of the main challenges of teamwork is the assessment of each individual student. It is not a good practice to assign one and the same mark to all students in the team since their contributions to the work are usually not equal. Therefore, a method for assessing the individual contribution of the students in teamwork should be developed. Such a method is discussed in the paper.

This study examined the relationship between Dickinson's (1993) components of teamwork and ratings of team members' contributions to team success. Undergraduate students ( n = 179) each viewed 1 of 8 videotapes depicting a team interacting to solve the Winter Survival Problem. Participants then completed a 52‐item questionnaire assessing the connection between teamwork components and perceptions of contributions to team productivity, team viability, teamwork, and overall team performance. With 1 exception, all of the teamwork components manipulated in the study significantly affected appraisals of several aspects of worker effectiveness. Furthermore, raters considered teamwork behaviors that provided direct assistance or direction to team members as being especially critical.

Teamwork and communication between healthcare workers are vital for patient safety in the high-risk environment of health care. The purpose of this descriptive study was to measure the teamwork among members of the rapid response team (RRT) to design teamwork communication training for team members. Data were collected via live observation of RRT events and from RRT team member ratings of teamwork during events.

Creating management team is a long term process and we should have a well-defined goal when we start to work on this direction. Creating the team often occurs spontaneously, without any methodological assistance. Head of the organization makes decision to reunite its personal abilities with his deputies and advisors skills and creates a management team.Teamwork is a group of persons acting together as a team in which each person’s opinion and interest are subject unity and effectiveness of the team. This does not mean that the individual is no longer important. But this means that active and effective teamwork going beyond the borders of individual achievements. Teamwork is taken effective when every individual of the team is striving towards the common objective that is why teamwork became an important part of the culture of teamwork.

This study attempted to identify the predictors of entrepreneurial behavior by assessing a series of variables that included teamwork skills and demographic variables, and to explore teachers' experiences with teamwork. A sample of 367 K-12 public school teachers completed the survey. The findings indicated that teamwork predicts entrepreneurial behavior. Most participants received teamwork training through their school districts. Barriers to teamwork included time constraints, individual differences, and inability to collaborate.
