Object To observe the analgesic and anti-inflammatory actions of Compound Nilentriol Tablets (CNT).Methods Hot-plate method for mice and tail flick method for rats were used to check pain threshold after administration with CNT,aspirin and araban respectively.Furthermore, the ankle swelling caused by carrageenin and the granuloma caused by cotton in pellet in rats were made to observe the anti-inflammatory effect of CNT.Results The dose depending analgesic and anti-inflammatory actions of CNT were demonstrated by analgesic and inflammatory models. Conclusion CNT has significant analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Objective:To observe the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity Gutong film(GTF) in rats. Methods:The anti-inflammatory effect of GTF was observed by the test of paraxylene induced auricle swelling in mice and egg album induced paw edema in rats. The analgesic activity of GF was investigated by the writhing and hot-plate test. Results:GF obviously inhibited the inflammatory edema caused by both inflammatory agents, and significantly elevated the pain threshold, and reduced the writhing frequency induced by acetic acid. Conclusion:GTF has notable effects of anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.

Objective: The present study sought to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of ethanolic extract from Tradescantia fluminensis leaves. Methods: The crude leaf extract of T. fluminensis was investigated for anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities in Wistar Albino rats and mice respectively. The anti-inflammatory activity was investigated using egg albumin induced oedema model while acetic acid and formalin-induced paw licking models were used to evaluate the analgesic activity. Results: The extract showed a significant (P<0.05) dose-dependent inhibition of inflammation and pain compared to the control group. Conclusion: The leaf extract possesses anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities. The activities could be attributed to phytochemicals present in the plant.

Analgesic, anti-inflammatory and diuretic activities of the methanol extract of two varieties of Cicer arietinum viz black or Desi and white or Kabuli were tested in the doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg. For analgesic effect of the extracts, acetic acid induced writhing, tail immersion and hot plate tests were employed in mice. The anti-inflammatory activity was carried out by carrageenan induced inflammation in rats, whereas the diuretic action was determined using metabolic cages for rats. Animals were divided into six groups (n=7): (1) Control (2) Standard (3) MECAB 200 (4) MECAB 400 (5) MECAW 200 (6) MECAW 400. All extracts and standard drugs were administered orally. Acute oral toxicity of the extracts was also checked in mice up to 2000mg/kg dose, which showed a favorable safety. Significant analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects were observed. The results of diuretic activity were significant at 12th and 24th hrs. Therefore, it is concluded that the methanol extracts of the seeds of Cicer arietinum have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and diuretic potential.

Evaluation of analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of ethanolic extract of Cordia sebestena L.
Abstract Trees and shrubs of the genus Cordia are widely distributed in the warmer regions, including Indonesia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of the ethanolic extract of plant leaves in Wistar albino rats. The analgesic activity was evaluated using the hot plate method and acetic acid-induced writhing, and the anti-inflammatory activity was determined using carrageenan-induced paw oedema. The results showed that the Cordia sebestena ethanol extract (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg) exhibited significant analgesic effects in a dose-dependent manner in the two pain models tested. The extract also exhibited significant anti-inflammatory effects in the carrageenan-induced inflammation test. The data obtained support the traditional folklore therapeutic claim about its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Nonetheless, further scientific investigation is required to establish its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties in other experimental models and clinical settings.

An Inflammation is a major condition associated with various diseases. Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the challenging disorder associated with inflammatory conditions. Medicinal plants are the natural source which have viewed as a fruitful and logic research strategy in the search of new anti-inflammatory & analgesic drugs. The Present study was to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of the methanol extract of Indigofera trita (MIT). Anti-inflammatory activity of the extract was evaluated by using carageenan induced Paw edema method. The analgesic activity of the extract was evaluated for its central and peripheral pharmacological actions by using Eddy’s hot plate method and acetic acid – induced writhing respectively the study was carried out using dose of 200 & 400 mg/kg orally. The findings of anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.

To evaluate the role of anti-inflammatory and analgesicof Iraqi pumpkin seed oil. The oil seed (25-100 mg / kg) were investigated using various experimental models for analgesic and anti-inflammatory benefit. Acetic acid and thermal induced models of pain were used to examine the anti-nociceptive property. Though models of oedema induced by carragenin were used to evaluate anti-inflammation. Results were reported from these studies that the extract prepared from Iraqi pumpkin seeds possess potential anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity when compared with standard drug Diclofenac. Even though all the concentrations showed varying degree of inflammatory and analgesic activity, 100mg/kg bw showed better anti inflammatory and analgesic activity

Indan derivatives, namely, 5-(5',6'-dichloroindan-1'-yl)-tetrazole (12a) and 5-(5',6'-dichloroindan-1'-yl)- methyltetrazole (12b), were synthesized conveniently from 5,6-dichloroindan-1-carboxylic acid (9a) and 5,6- dichloroindan-1-acetic acid (9b), respectively, as potential analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents. The analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of 9a, 9b, 12a and 12b were evaluated by the acetic acid induced writhing in Swiss albino mice and the carrageenan-induced rat paw edema models, respectively. Compounds 9a and 12a exhibited significant analgesic activity with the doses of 50 and 100 mg/kg body weight, comparable to that of the positive controls, phenylbutazone, indomethacin and aminopyrine. The anti-inflammatory potencies of 9a and 12a were also comparable to that of the positive control, phenylbutazone. Compounds 9b and 12b showed analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities, but were weaker than that of compounds 9a and 12a.

The barks and roots of Edgeworthia chrysantha LINDL., which have been used as the folk medicine "Zhu shima" in southern China due to their detumescence and acesodyne effects, were investigated for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities using a xylene-induced ear edema assay in mice and Freund's complete adjuvant-induced paw edema as inflammation models, and the acetic acid-induced writhing test as an analgesic model. Fractions effective in terms of anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities were obtained from E. chrysantha. The chloroform-soluble fraction (CHF) showed significant anti-inflammatory (p<0.01-0.001) and analgesic (p<0.01) effects. On further purification by silica gel, three major coumarins, edgeworin (EdN), edgeworosides A and C (EdeA and EdeC), were isolated from the chloroform fraction and both anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities were evaluated. EdN and EdeA had anti-inflammatory (p<0.05-0.01) and analgesic (p<0.001) effects, while EdeC only showed an analgesic effect. The results of this study thus demonstrated that the coumarins EdN, EdeA and EdeC in this plant may be active constituents that contribute to the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
