Abstract:
Over the past decade, there has been continual improvement in both ablative and surgical technologies for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The efficacy of ablative therapy compared to surgical resection for HCC has not been thoroughly evaluated using multiple large-scale randomized controlled trials. By international consensus, if a patient is eligible, surgery is the primary curative treatment option, as it is believed to confer superior oncologic control.to determine the efficacies of percutaneous ablative therapies and surgical resection (SR) in the treatment of HCC. Data sources, study appraisal, and synthesis methods: A meta-analysis using 5 online databases dating back to 1989 with more than 31,000 patients analyzing patient and tumor characteristics, median follow-up, overall survival, and complication rate was performed.Ablative therapies are suitable alternatives to surgical resection in terms of survival and complication rates for comparable patient populations. For the entire length of the study from 1989-2019, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) produced the highest 5-year survival rates (59.6%), followed by microwave ablation (MWA) (50.7%) and surgical resection (SR) (49.9%). In the most recent era from 2006 to 2019, surgical resection has produced the highest 5-year survival rate of 72.8%, followed by RFA at 61.7% and MWA at 50.6%. Conclusions and key findings: Depending on the disease state and comorbidities of the patient, one modality may offer superior overall survival rates over the other available techniques. Interventional ablative methods and surgical resection should be used in conjunction for the successful treatment of small-sized HCC.Keywords:

Aim : Materials and To compare the newer modalities and nd out effectiveness of newer modalities for diabetic wound. Methods : A prospective study in GSVM medical college ,LLR & Associated Hospitals ,Kanpur (UP).Total sample size of 60 patients were taken and patients were equally divided into three groups selected randomly and follow up was taken upto 6 months between 2020 and 2023. Out of three modalities which were compared and evaluated .Skin grafting pa Results : tients group have maximum number of completely healed patients and was the cheapest among three modalities. skin grafting is the best modality out of three modalities Conclusion : followed by PRP and then collagen dressing. Skin grafting is cost effective modality as compared to PRP and collagen dressing and commonly performed procedure which is being done at tertiary level hospitals

Abstract Culture can affect treatment modalities in numerous ways. If people in a society understand a treatment modality and accept its application, they are more likely to accept and comply with the treatment. If the treatment is not familiar, or conflicts with cultural notions regarding treatment, acceptance and adherence will suffer (Moore& Boehnlein, 1991, p. 1029). Culturalfamiliarity and approvalserve as a critical first step toward family acceptance, societal access to and availability of the modality, and the support of other societal institutions for the modality. Society endorses treatment alternatives through such institutions as education, religion, health care, health law, industrial production, and courts.

The purpose of our study was to construct a management sequence allowing classification of infertile couples into specific groups according to the available treatment modalities. We achieved this by the following: a search of the existing medical literature; critical evaluation of personal experience gained by extensive practice in treating infertile couples; and perusal of methods and modalities for diagnosis and treatment of infertility available at present. We present a new concise classification of infertility, permitting efficient use of existing techniques and treatment modalities and conforming to the expectations of a modern consumer society.

Methods A national survey of 1,000 practicing ID physicians in the United States was conducted in 2010. The IM modalities studied were mind-body based modalities (MBM), biologically based modalities (BBM), manipulative and bodybased modalities (MBBM), energy based modalities (EBM) and whole medical systems (WMS). Participants were asked to indicate their familiarity of each modality. If they were familiar with the modality they were then asked to indicate whether they recommended it to patients.

BACKGROUND Striae distensea (SD; stretch marks) are a well-recognized, common skin condition that rarely causes any significant medical problems but are often a significant source of distress to those affected. The origins of SD are poorly understood, and a number of treatment modalities are available for their treatment, yet none of them is consistently effective, and no single therapy is considered to be pivotal for this problem. With a high incidence and unsatisfactory treatments, stretch marks remain an important target of research for an optimum consensus of treatment. OBJECTIVE To identify the current treatment modalities and their effectiveness in the treatment of stretch marks. MATERIALS AND METHODS Review of the recent literature regarding clinical treatment of stretch marks with emphasis on the safety and efficacy of the newer optical devices and laser applications. RESULTS No current therapeutic option offers complete treatment, although there are a number of emerging new modalities that are encouraging. CONCLUSION The therapeutic strategies are numerous, and no single modality has been far more consistent than the rest. The long-term future of treatment strategies is encouraging with the advance in laser technologies. The authors have indicated no significant interest with commercial supporters.

Question Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation (MWA) are the main ablative methods utilized in the treatment of hepatic lesions. Although efficacy of RFA has been evaluated in several studies, effectiveness of MWA and comparison between the two approaches remain unclear. Aim of the survey is to compare MWA with RFA in the treatment of liver cancer.

Intended for use in courses where various clinically oriented techniques and methods are presented. Not a modality cookbook, but a presentation for the basis of use for each modality which allows the therapists to make their own decisions in a given situation. All therapists use some type of modalities from a simple ice pack to electrical current stimulations, and this title features comprehensive coverage of all the therapeutic modalities used in a clinical settings. In addition, strong textbook aids such as chapter objectives, lab activities and case studies help clarify and reinforce the material presented.
