Abstract:
Automotive lighting has provoked human ingenuity to a next level, where many amazing ideas, concepts, technologies, designs, and science have been discovered. LED can be designed in many possible designs to fit the automotive lighting application. Before readers deep dive into the automotive lighting system, they must understand the basics of photometrics. Photometry is the science concerned with measuring human visual response to light. The automotive lighting system can be divided into two subfamilies that is lighting (to see) and signaling (to be seen). This chapter focuses on the lighting "to see," that is, the headlamps. It covers the headlamp functions and some of the developments related to headlamps like adaptive front-lighting systems, future headlamp technology, and LED headlamp thermal management. Automotive interior lighting has captivated many car buyers. It is one of the key attractions for car buyers.Keywords:

LED lighting is a rapidly evolving technology that produces light in a more efficient way. It is already surpass the quality and efficiency of existing lighting technologies, such as fluorescent and incandescent. Generally, LED inherently is a DC electrical load whereas the power supply in buildings is in AC form. In this study, using the innovative DC-LED lighting system instead of the conventional AC-LED lighting systems is proposed. The benefit of DC-LED lighting system is to overcome the drawbacks of having to convert AC voltage to DC voltage using SMPS for each LED unit, however only one SMPS with high efficiency is enough to supply the DC-LED lighting system. In this paper DC-LED lighting system will save 17.4% of energy more than AC-LED lighting system. One of the drawbacks of using a DC Power line is the voltage drop, which leads to a difference in lighting intensity between each DC-LED lamp. Therefore, to overcome this drawback a powerline communication (PLC) technique is proposed to identical the brightness for all DC-LED lamps. Furthermore DC-PLC LED lighting system can benefits from the internet of things (IoT) concept, providing the LED lighting system with unique identifiers will offers an advanced connectivity to control the LED lighting system via internet.

With recent increases in luminous flux and efficacy, LEDs have started to compete with conventional light sources in luminaires for general lighting. Typical LED characteristics, such as directional light, small size and high brightness are as such not new light source characteristics; nonetheless they are (alone or as combination) new characteristics in some areas of functional interior lighting, such as offices, class rooms, meeting rooms or patient rooms. Most existing quality measures for those applications are derived from research with and referring to the use of diffuse fluorescent lighting. This report provides information on the suitability of existing lighting quality measures when applied to (commercial) interior LED lighting systems. It identifies the gaps and weaknesses in existing quality measures, recommends new quality measures and includes suggestions for required research. Keywords: lighting design, interior lighting, LED

The author researched the rural lighting conditions in Yichang,Hubei province. In this paper,a series of advantages on energy-saving lamps and LED lighting in rural production were discussed. Meanwhile a lot of problems were found. For example,LED is not popular with the rural consumers; lighting random installation position of lamps and lanterns leads to production lighting can not meet the actual demand. On this basis,the present situation of lighting and reasons were further analyzed. Finally,in order to improve the quality of rural lighting,a variety of solution was tried,such as the choice of lighting lamps and lanterns,arrangement and installation of lighting lamps and lanterns and processing method for old lamps and lanterns.

The article discusses the main issues of energy conservation in lighting in the face of a growing shortage of energy resources. Estimated reserves of energy savings in lighting. The urgent tasks of designing modern lighting make it possible to identify the most efficient light sources and lighting devices, ways to ensure energy and lighting savings, and ways to increase the energy efficiency of an industrial plant lighting system. The basic provisions for the use of LED lighting devices for lighting industrial premises are given. The requirements for artificial production lighting, regulated by various regulatory documents, are considered. The possibilities of DiaLux program for lighting modeling are analyzed. Lighting projects have been developed for various sections of the galvanic shop with LED lights in DIALux. A comparative analysis of the energy efficiency of indoor lighting projects using LED and fluorescent lamps demonstrates the obvious use of LED lighting devices for lighting industrial premises.

Because of the successful development of the white light LED of the high light effect and high brightness in recent years,the application of the LED at lighting realm makes possible.The LED will become the fourth generation light source,namely the semi-conductor lighting.For achieving the semi-conductor lighting,one hand is to strengthen the research for the mechanism craft of the LED,raise efficiency of the LED and decline cost,on the other hand because the LED has volt-ampere characteristic,the complexity of the photoelectricity characteristic and non-linearity characteristic,we should research the power supply method of the LED lighting system further to achieve the reasonable using of power and it can make the efficiency of the whole lighting system highest.There are too many people to research the former but what we do the latter so few currently.This text carries on the research to the power supply problem of the lighting of LED,and put forward a method towards raise the power supply efficiency and stability of the LED.

As the quality of power LED improves and the cost of power LED reduces, semiconductor lighting will replace incandescent and fluorescent lighting gradually, causing another revolution on the lighting history. And its driving solution has been greatly accelerated. Based on the white power LED I-V characteristics and the application ambiance, proposed is a new LED lighting solution, suiting indoor and outdoor illumination. According to the test results, the design is optimized, and the electrical efficiency is 95% and the output current deviation is 13.0%.

In order to overcome the shortcoming of high energy consumption,short life of ordinary light bulb automotive headlamps and high cost of current LED(Light-Emitting Diodes) headlamps,an optical design scheme of low-power LED headlamps is introduced.48 pieces of low-power LEDs are used,so that each LED can illuminate one rectangular area on the measuring screen.A free-form lens is designed for one single LED;the lights will generate a rectangular beam region after passing through the lens.Lighting up different LEDs and regulating the irradiation direction of the lamp can satisfy the lighting demands.Ray tracing simulation results comply with the Chinese Regulation.The life of low-power LEDs is longer than ordinary bulb.This lamp is lower cost and higher reliability compared with high-power LED headlamp.Some functions of AFS(Adaptive Front-Lighting System) can also be achieved.

Mechanical light switches are widely used as household lighting controls at present. Although this kind of control method is reliable, it is lack of intelligence especially for LED lighting. Exploiting the unique advantage of easy control of LED lighting can further realize additional energy saving of LED lighting, lighting environment scenario setting, reduction of light pollution. In addition, by using intelligent control of LED lighting, the driver load can be reduced, which has a positive effect on the product lifetime. This paper reports our work on ZigBee based LED intelligent lighting control system solution, which supports both mechanical lighting switching and intelligent control of LED lighting.
