    This study proposes a decision method to help designers and engineers select the manufacturing process that meet the production performances, including environmental impacts. It has intended to make a decision on manufacturing parameters such as quality, time, cost and environmental impact. The methodology is structured and supported by a matrix called the manufacturing matrix. It is used to evaluate the relationships between the manufacturing process of each product attribute and the process parameters. The method is in 4 steps: create the manufacturing matrix, generate the solutions, evaluate the solutions and select the manufacturing process. The methodology is applied on an industrial case study in the leather good industry. It is able to help practically designers and engineers select the suitable manufacturing process.

    Green manufacturing technology was used to study and discuss waste and pollution in the process of the machine tool manufacturing and using.The green technology was briefly introduced in the development and application of the manufacture.How to use the green manufacturing technology was studied and investigated in the full life-cycle of the machine tool that was designed,purchased,used and recycled.It is a direction that is worthy continuing research that green manufacturing technology is used to help take full account of the impact of machine tools in the full life-cycle.

    One of the greatest problems in the rush to develop new products lies in the shortening of the development lead time. Therefore, solutions are sought, particularly in rapid prototype manufacturing and rapid preparation for mass production. Most mechanical parts are manufactured using the forming process. The production of the dies and molds used for producing these formed parts poses a bottleneck in the development of new products. As technological innovation advances rapidly for the manufacture of dies and molds, more rapid die and mold manufacturing methods are being sought, and such demands urge the development of new technologies. Rapid tooling, utilizing R/P models, can result in the rapid manufacturing of prototypes, and dies and molds. This paper reviews this rapid tool manufacturing based on layer laminate manufacturing which is attracting a lot of attention.

    In this article,the principle,characteristics,common materials and processes of laser rapid manufacturing technology are introduced.Laser rapid manufacturing technology is suitable for manufacturing single items and in small quantities by molds and it also solves the problems of long preparing period and complex process in the traditional mold manufacturing industry.The advantage of laser rapid manufacturing technology in mold manufacturing industry is described in detail.
