    High anticancer activity in short response time exhibited by a new azobenzene derivative and its copper complex

    Abstract:
    o ‐Aminoazotoluene (OAT), capable of photoisomerization, and o ‐vanillin, a potent comutagen, have been used to synthesize a new ligand, HL, [C 6 H 4 (CH 3 )N=NC 6 H 3 (CH 3 )N=CHC 6 H 3 (OH)(OCH 3 )], which, upon complexation with copper(II), results in a new copper(II) complex‐Cu(L) 2 , [Cu{C 6 H 4 (CH 3 )N=NC 6 H 3 (CH 3 )N=CHC 6 H 3 (OCH 3 )O} 2 ]. Both HL and Cu(L) 2 have been characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction measurements along with other analytical techniques, for example, IR spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, UV–Vis spectroscopy, elemental analysis and mass spectrometry. These compounds were tested with different in vitro anticancer assay as well as with in silico studies. A comparative study has been demonstrated on anticancer activity of HL and Cu(L) 2 with the ligand HAZ, {C 6 H 5 N=NC 6 H 4 N=CHC 6 H 3 (OH)(OCH 3 )} and its Cu‐complex, [Cu(AZ) 2 , Cu{C 6 H 5 N=NC 6 H 4 N=CHC 6 H 3 (OCH 3 )O} 2 ]. The sensing properties of HAZ, along with the synthesis and structural properties of both HAZ and Cu(AZ) 2 , have been reported by our group earlier. Cytotoxicity measurements on MCF7 cell lines show that Cu(L) 2 and Cu(AZ) 2 have higher anticancer activity than their corresponding ligands. The apoptotic effect of Cu‐complex was studied through nuclear fragmentation assay and AO/EB dual‐staining assay on MCF7 cell line. The IC 50 value of Cu(L) 2 in 0.01% DMSO/water after 24‐h treatment was found 4.2 μM, which is one of the lowest values with this response time compared to the other analogous anticancer compounds. Finally, we have evaluated the expression of h ERα protein with respect to Cu‐complexes, and it was observed that Cu(L) 2 caused more down‐regulation of h ERα as compared to Cu(AZ) 2 .

    カルボナート系,およびアゾメチン系液晶に1液晶形成能をもたない化合物であるtrans-アゾベンゼソ誘導体を混合することにより,系の液晶形成がどのように変化するかを調べた。またtrans-アゾベンゼン構造を. CiS-アゾベンゼン構造へと光異性化させることにより,系の液晶形成能がさらにどのように変化するかを調べた。トランス構造のアゾベンゼン化合物の添加により,系の液晶形成能は低下するが,約20mol%以上の添加においても,系は液晶形成能を有することがわかった。しかし,折れ曲がったシス構造をとらせることにより,系の液晶形成能は六きく低下し,光により系の液晶形成が制御できることが確かめられた。

Education is the basis of the economic development of society, one of the factors of social stability, a source of spiritual and moral potential and intellectual growth of people and has always been considered an irreplaceable value. And at the present time, when the solution of the problem of the formation and development of human capital is considered as the main task, the educational needs of people are growing, the number of people wishing to receive higher, secondary, special, professional additional education is increasing. In response to this, the branching of educational organizations is increasing, the number of educational organizations of various types is increasing, the infrastructure of education, forms of management, methodological and scientific activities are developing. Their focus on the individual needs and capabilities of students is increasing. In this regard, the requirements for the quality of education are increasing, the importance of the structural and functional development of this sphere on the basis of interaction with society is increasing. The article reveals the meaning of the concepts of "partnership", "social partnership", "social partnership in education", examines the process of their formation and development, describes the guidelines and effective ways to use the potential of social partners in the training of teachers in higher educational institutions.     Abstract Photoinduced reversible solid‐to‐liquid transitions of azobenzene‐containing materials can control adhesion. Photoswitchable adhesives based on azobenzene‐containing small molecules and polymers are under intense investigation. The melting points or glass transition temperatures of such azobenzene‐containing materials in trans and cis forms are above and below room temperature, respectively. Photoswitching of these materials results in reversible trans ‐ cis isomerization and solid‐to‐liquid transitions. The solid trans azobenzene‐containing materials have strong adhesion and the liquid cis azobenzene‐containing materials have weaker adhesion. In this Minireview, we introduce adhesives based on azobenzene‐containing small molecules and polymers. The remaining challenges and perspectives in the field of photoswitchable adhesives using azobenzene‐containing materials are also discussed.
