The ligand of salicylaldehyde-amine dis-Schiff base was synthesized by Schiff base reaction using ethylenediamine and salicylaldehyde as raw materials.Three kinds of transition metal complexes were prepared by complexing Cu,Zn and Ni with the Schiff base. The structure of products was characterized by elemental analysis,IR and UV-Vis.The results of characterization proved the structure of salicylaldehyde-amine ligand conformed with the target construction, and stable transition metal complexes were formed by it with Cu,Zn and Ni,respectively.

The Schiff base of O,O'diethylphosphorohydrazonohionate with 5Brsalicylaldehyde and its Cu(Ⅱ), Co(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ) complexes have been synthesized. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV/vis, and molar eletroconductivity measurement. And the Schiff base ligand has been characterized by 1H NMR and MS. The insecticidal activities to bollwarm and the actions on cell surival rate in rice sprouts of the compounds have been determined.

In this paper a new schiff base ligand and its complex containing Mn(Ⅱ) were synthesized by the condensating 5-chloro salicylaldehyde with suphourea. Its composition and structure have been characterized by the elemental analysis and several spectra. The free radical inhibition rate to O - 2 have also been tested.

The tetradentate schiff base ligand, N,N'-bis(salicylaldehyde)-m-phenylenediimine has been prepared from salicylaldehyde and m-phenylenediamine by Duff-reaction. The schiff base ligand has been reacted with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) to form new complexes; Cu(II). It seems to be that the Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes have hexacoordinated configuration with the schiff base and two molecules of water, while Zn(II) complex has tetracoordinated configuration with the schiff base and four molecules of water. The mole ratio of tetradentate schiff base ligand to Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) are 1:1 but to Zn(II) is 1:2. These complexes have been identified by visible spectra, infrared spectra, T.G.A. and elemental analysis.

Ten metal complexes,[MnL].H2O(1),[CuL].H2O(2),[Cu4L2Cl4](3),[Mn4L2Cl4](4),[CrL(H2 O)2](NO3)(5),[Cd2L'2(CH3OH)2(NO3)2](6),[NiL]3(sal).2H2O(7),[CoL(H2O)2]2.4H2O(8),[CoL'2](ClO 4)(9) and [(UO2)L(CH3OH)]2(10) have been prepared, where sal = salicylaldehyde, and the di-Schiff bas e H2L and the mono-Schiff base HL' were respectively from the(2 + 1) and(1 + 1) condensations of salic ylaldehyde with 1,2-diaminepropane.The ten complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, which reveals that complexes 1-10 as a series, although being synthe sized by the similar methods, are varied in structure geometry.

Nine novel 5 (4' sulphamidylbenzylazo)salicylaldehyde Schiff bases are prepared by using sulfanilamide, salicylaldehyde and aromatic amine as initial materials. The structures of these compounds are characterized by IR, 1H NMR,MS and element analysis. The studies on thermochromic properties of these compounds are also performed.
