The economic uncertainty caused by COVID-19 has led governments around the world to attach more importance to green innovation to accomplish their carbon reduction schemes. To improve the green innovation encouraging effect of an environmental policy system, this study introduces a unit progressive carbon tax on the basis of a green innovation subsidy to discuss the synergy green innovation effect between them. We set up a dynamic evolutionary game model to analyze the respective influences of green innovation subsidies and an environmental policy system containing a unit progressive carbon tax on Low Carbon Technology (LCT) heterogeneous enterprises’ endogenous green innovation strategies. The Evolutionary Stable Strategy analysis of dynamic game models demonstrate that there does exist a synergy green innovation effect between green innovation subsidies and unit carbon taxes. The numerical simulation shows that the synergy green innovation effect of green innovation subsidies and carbon taxes contains both an overlapping policy effect and a more significant green innovation stimulating effect on enterprises with high LCT. Additionally, the introduction of a carbon tax will increase enterprises’ affordability on the green innovation cost coefficient. Furthermore, introducing a unit progressive carbon tax would also create additional stimulation for enterprises to pursue a larger carbon reduction amount for the carbon emission cost-saving advantage. Based on the synergy green innovation effect mentioned above, we also investigate the policy implications of varying the tax rate and subsidy proportion in different situations.

We examine the relationship between green innovation and employment from data taken from the Spanish Technological Innovation Panel (PITEC) for period 2007-2011. The increasing relevance of environmental issues for the Spanish economy, its unemployment problem and the uniqueness in its innovation structure make it a proper and interesting context to investigate green innovation dynamics. We find a positive relationship between green innovation and employment, and the relationship is stronger for firms in the so-called 'dirty' industries. In addition, we show that the relationship is positive for firms that introduce green innovation voluntarily, as compared to firms that introduce green innovation merely to comply with regulations. A positive and significant relationship is also found between employment and firms that report an increase in the degree of importance paid to green innovation.

In a competitive environment, most catering establishments strive for quality food preparation and customer service. The presence of many public catering enterprises on the market forms a high level of competition in this area of economic activity, where recently attention has been focused on environmental factors. In this regard, the development and implementation of an enterprise development strategy is the most important condition for increasing the efficiency of its activities, competitiveness, and sustainability of industrial catering companies.

Based on representative firm-level survey data for Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, this study systematically analyses the relevance and drivers of barriers to green product innovation using the example of green energy technologies. 'Low willingness to pay', 'high development costs', 'high commercial uncertainty', and 'lack of favourable political framework' are identified as the most important barriers. Moreover, we find that the firms' innovation experience is an important driver of the level of green innovation barriers. Green innovation barriers are more accentuated for firms with green innovation activity than for firms with no green innovation activity. However, experience from different fields of green innovation and experience from non-green innovation activities help to limit these barriers.

Increasing environmental concern from customers, buyers, communities, and government regulations have forced companies to implement Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) and green innovation. GSCM and green innovation have strategic interconnection in developing new green product. Little research attention on this relationship cannot boost better understanding for academic and practitioners. The purpose of this paper is to review the recent literatures that discuss the relationship between GSCM and green innovation. The findings of this paper show that GSCM leads to green innovation. However, future studies should be included the whole GSCM practices in exploring the link on green innovation and also directly increase empirical evidence to support the relationship.

This paper presents a part of a larger study in the perspective of halal food logistics (HFL) towards halal food & beverages (FB logistics service providers (LSPs) that offering HFL services and the halal product's manufacturers, mainly from small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Some of the challenges were identified such as the complex management of warehousing and terminals, the lack of trust and knowledge, perceived risk, and others that related to the halal matters.
