Soils collected from two sites were used for up to six successive plantings of wheat in the greenhouse. Soils were infested before each of the first four plantings with Rhizoctonia solani AG-8 or R. oryzae, or left non-infested. R. solani stunted seedlings during the first planting. After a second or third crop, depending upon the soil origin, shoot weights were significantly higher in infested soils than in controls. Shoot growth was never suppressed when soils were infested with R. oryzae. Disease suppressiveness tests performed during a fifth crop demonstrated that successive plantings of wheat into soils infested with R. solani AG-8 caused a decline of the disease []

The inhibiting efficacy of five mixtures made by three medicinal plants materials in different proportions were tested to Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum, the causing agents of strawberry replanting diseases. Results showed that T15-Ⅰ significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of Rhizoctonia solani compared with the other mixtures. The inhibitive rate against the mycelial growth of Rhizoctonia solani 85.5%,while the inhibitive rate against the mycelial growth of Fusarium oxysporum was 32.7%,significantly different with the three other mixtures.T15-Ⅰ was tested aganist Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum in different dilutions. The results showed that the suppressive effect of T15-Ⅰ when diluted to 0.5%,0.25% and 0.125% on Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum were 70.8%,49.2%,22.1% and 19.2%,13.3%,7.9% respectively.Besides, for Rhizoctonia solani, the EC_50 of T15-Ⅰ was 2.2 \{mg/mL\}.The inhibitive rates against conidial germination of Fusarium oxysporum were respectively reached \{59.9%\},37.6% and 17.0% when diluted to 2%,1% and 0.5%.

Abstract A survey was conducted in Ankara and Eskisehir provinces of Turkey for determining anastomosis groups and pathogenicity of Rhizoctonia species associated with root and crown rot of wheat. Pathogenicity tests revealed that Rhizoctonia solani AG 8 caused the common symptoms of damping‐off and stunting.
