Being the focus of all medical education programs, the medical students should be in the spotlight in the accreditation of these programs.Students should have the right to give feedbacks on the quality of higher medical education and be provided the opportunities to contribute to the accreditation process. In order to evaluate current students' participation in this process and students' attitude toward accreditation, we conducted a survey on 340 students of grade 2004 ~ grade 2009, five-year and seren-year clinical medicine programs and had interriews with seven strdents at Shantou University Medical College. The survey results indicated that students' participation in the accreditation process was limited.36.5 percent students were not aware that their medical school was going through the accreditation process and 60.3percent students did not know about the site visit of the accreditation team.Whilethe students had a strong will to participate in the accreditation. So efforts should be made to involve the students in the accreditation process. We proposed a variety of ways to encourage students' participation in the accreditation process, such as ensuring the rights of the students in the accreditation of their medical schools, stimulating the enthusiasm of students' involvement and providing concrete opportunities for students' participation may be the effective approaches.

Accreditation is an essential tool to ensure quality postgraduate medical education (PGME) in Canada (also known as residency or graduate medical education in the United States). Residents participate in the accreditation process of residency training programs in Canada primarily through three steps: completing a resident program evaluation (RPE), meeting with the surveyors during on-site visits, and participating as members of the surveyor team. The author first provides a brief description of the current state of the Canadian PGME system, examining how it connects to the existing accreditation system for residency training programs. The article describes the process that was undertaken to develop and implement a new set of RPEs informed by medical education principles, as well as the development of a new information package about the accreditation process for residents.Through a multistage, consultative and iterative process, a draft RPE was developed and reviewed by various groups and was eventually implemented at a full on-site survey. At each stage, the feedback was used to further refine and revise the RPE before moving to a subsequent stage. These consultations were to ensure both face and content validity of the tools. This new RPE is one component of a new accreditation survey package that will be used to determine the residents' perspectives on their training program and to educate them on the importance of accreditation in ensuring quality PGME.

The concept of accreditation is introduced, and the expectations of the world body in physiotherapy identified. National physiotherapy standards are necessary before an accreditation process can be instituted. The expectations of a good practice accreditation model are developed through consideration of graduate learning outcomes, accreditation requirements and processes, the accreditation authority, its panel members and their activities and the accreditation decision. The article concludes with an emphasis on the Australian requirements for physiotherapy programme accreditation. Level of evidence: Not applicable

Accreditation is an assessment activity to determine the eligibility of a department and higher education. Accreditation aims to determine the eligibility of departments and universities based on criteria that refer to the national higher education standards and guarantee the quality of departments and universities externally in both academic and non-academic fields to protect the interests of students and the community. All accreditation agencies have different accreditation instruments. The scoring calculation can be done automatically through the application of the respective accreditation agency and can only be seen by the assessment team, while departments and universities cannot see it. so far, universities and departments can only calculate accreditation scores manually using the excell application based on accreditation assessment instruments and matrices. Therefore, the research team wants to create a web-based application that can calculate accreditation scores independently to calculate accreditation assessment scores quickly and accurately.
