    Abstract:
Abstract Background: In line with aging populations and increased application of anesthesia and surgery, perioperative neurocognitive disorder (PND) has received growing attention worldwide. Considerable research into PND is being conducted; however, the quantity and quality of such research have not been reported. Through a retrospective bibliometric analysis, this study aimed to identify and characterize the top 100 cited publications on PND. Methods: We searched the Web of Science database to find the top 100 cited articles focusing on PND. We collected bibliographic information, including year of publication, country of origin, article type, published journal, citation count, and authorship. To determine changes with time, we compared older and newer articles. Results: The top 100 cited articles were published between 1955 and 2016; the number of citations ranged from 111 to 1248. The United States had the most published papers; clinical trials were the most common article type. The specialty journals of Anesthesiology and Anesthesia & Analgesia were the two most cited journals. Newer papers had a comparable number of citations to older articles, but the former had higher citation rates, greater funding disclosures, more focus on basic research, and more open access publications. Conclusions: This study provides a comprehensive overview of the most cited articles and highlights the increasing attention on PND. High-quality clinical trials with a greater journal impact factor received more citations. However, there has been growth in the number of basic science studies as an area of research with respect to the pathogenesis of PND.

Bibliometrics is an emerging thrust area of research in the field of library and information Science. Journal literature is an important source of information. To disseminate new ideas for recent developments in any area of research and development work. Study of the papers published in a particular journal reveals the status and trends of research in the subject in which the journal is published. Bibliometrics studies are used to identify the pattern of publication, authorship and citation analysis with the hope that such regularities can give an insight into the dynamics of the area under consideration.

In this study, we carried a classification by country based on the analysis of the scientific production of psychology journals. We analyzed a total of 108,741 documents, published in the Web of Science. The indicators used were the Weighted Impact Factor, the Relative Impact Factor, the Citation Rate per article and the articles published in the top five journals of the Journal Citation Report (JCR). The results indicate that Spain has the highest percentage of articles in the top five journals in the JCR and Colombia is the second latin-american, Spanish-speaking country that has more citations per article. Countries like Hungary, Italy and USA, had a higher Impact Factor and Citation Rate.

To conduct a critical analysis of the two main bibliometric indexes used by science: the impact factor and the H index.Research was conducted on PubMed using the keywords: impact factor, Bibliometrics and H index. The citations of articles tend to follow a curve in which the articles published in a given year increase sharply to a peak occurring between two and six years after its publication. From this peak citations decline over time. The analysis of the scientific merit should not be based on only in bibliometric measure, but in the association of various parameters. The impact factor and the H index is mainly based on the number of citations of scientific papers, and this parameter, although important, should not be used alone, nor overvalued in the evaluation of teaching merit.

Abstract Introduction Bibliometrics enable the objective assessment of a journals quality and prestige, making them vital to academic surgical integrity. This paper systematically reviews the evidence for current journal-ranking platforms. Method An initial systematic search identified published journal bibliometrics on 5th November 2019. Studies assessing journal bibliometrics were identified through a second systematic search through OVID Medline database (PROSPERO:159689) on 18th November 2019. Non-English papers and those solely referring to author and institutional ranking methods were excluded. A coding framework was developed to assess strengths and limitations of journal bibliometrics. Result The systematic search returned 2480 articles. All abstracts were reviewed leaving 474 for full assessment. 306 papers were included in the final synthesis. 12 journal bibliometrics were identified. SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) was deemed the most robust journal ranking method. Impact Factor (IF) is the most commonly used but has clear limitations. Altmetrics are likely to become more important. Ranking the Top 25 general surgical journals using SJR and IF results in clear discordance. Conclusion Impact Factor is susceptible to manipulation by journals putting its reliability into question. This has huge implications for academic surgery, the appraisal of evidence and its downstream assessment for inclusion into clinical guidelines and practice. SJR is more robust and it is recommended that this ranking method is adopted by the academic surgical community going forward. Take-home message The widely used Impact Factor can be manipulated by journals, which has implications for academic surgery and evidence-based medicine. SCImago Journal Rank is more robust and should be adopted by the academic surgical community.

Abstract The purpose of this study to examine the articles regarding the sustainability trade and green logistics and to ensure insight for the state and development of academic research in the relevant fields using bibliometrics analysis. The data were gathered from WoS database to observe the publication trends in the period of 2007-2022. A total of 528 articles were reviewed within the scope of this study. The visualization of the data was carried out through the MAXQDA Analytics Pro. The articles were analyzed under the following sub-headings: distribution of articles by years, frequency of keywords, productivity of institutions and country, performance of the publishers and journals, most preferred research method and top 5 most-cited articles. The findings indicated that the number of publications on relevant fields have increased significantly since 2015. The most publications relevant fields are released and recorded by Asian institutions, which is then followed by European institutions. The most publications on relevant fields are released and supported by Elsevier and MDPI publishing companies. The most publications on relevant fields are released in the Sustainability and Journal of Cleaner Production. Researchers in Europe have already started to pay attention and investigate trade and logistics in the context of sustainability since 2010. Academicians have mostly preferred to utilize quantitative methods during the scientific research. Keywords: Sustainable Trade, Green Logistics, Bibliometrics, WoS, MAXQDA Jel Codes: F10, M10, Q56

Viewed in the aggregate, a company's publications represent one of its greatest business assets. Can professionals in the information and communication fields help their company understand the return on its investment in publishing? The field of bibliometrics studies publication patterns by using quantitative analysis and statistics. Bibliometrics can be either descriptive, such as looking at how many articles your organization has published, or evaluative, such as using citation analysis to look at how those articles influenced subsequent research by others. Counting publications can be useful for doing some comparisons, but citation analysis allows you to look at the impact those articles have had on others by determining how often they are cited. Citation analysis can also show what journals, organizations, and even countries have high impact in different fields of research. The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) has been a leader in the citation analysis field since 1961, when ISI published the first Science Citation Index. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) has been using data from ISI for both descriptive and evaluative purposes. This data is used to track what the researchers at the Laboratory are writing and then comparing research groups within the organization over a period of years to identify trends and opportunities. PNNL has also used citation analysis to explore what organizations and academic institutions are doing research in certain fields for partnering opportunities. We focus on the use of publication counts, citation analysis, and impact factor to show how PNNL has been using bibliometrics.
