Modeling the Effects of the Factors Affecting IGF in Coastal Areas and Variation of IGF in Jiaodong Peninsula of China Based on Finite Element Method

Abstract:
Abstract Based on finite element method, we develop a model of the induced geoelectric field (IGF) occurring in land-sea boundary regions during large geomagnetic field disturbances. The model is used first to study the effects of the changes in the lithospheric conductivity, ionospheric current, and ocean depth on the distribution of IGF in a typical land-sea boundary region. The results show that the changes in the lithospheric conductivity and ionospheric current (frequency, magnitude and direction) have major effects and ocean depth has minor effect on IGF in coastal areas. Then by incorporating a realistic 3-D conductivity variation of Jiaodong Peninsula (JDP) in China obtained from measured data, the model is used to simulate the IGF variation in JDP covering its land-sea boundaries for east-west and north-south ionospheric currents. The results show a new aspect that extremely large IGF development on the land side of the coastal bay areas perpendicular to the currnet compared to plane coastal areas. The results can stimulate detailed investigations of IGF (and GIC, geomagnetically induced current) in coastal areas.Keywords:

Based on three-component geomagnetic data of the seismomagnetic test area in the eastern Dabie orogen, the geomagnetic lithosphere model is established.By making a comparison of the geomagnetic lithosphere model with 2005.0 geomagnetic lithosphere model,the time-space variation features of the geomagnetic lithosphere in the test area are studied.The results show that anomalous changes of the geomagnetic field of lithosphere are present around the Meishan-Longhekou fault and QingShan-XiaoTian fault.

The wave fields in Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea are numerically simulated and the results are validated. According to the numerical simulation of ten-year wave data, the wave energy characteristics in the sea adjacent to Shandong Peninsula are analyzed. The results show that,(a) the offshore wave energy distribution of Shandong Peninsula is uneven, the wave energy near the east peninsula is larger and stable with a annual average wave energy density of mostly more than 2.0 kW/m;(b) the offshore wave energy distribution of Shandong Peninsula is obviously varied with the seasonal changes while the wave energy density is smallest in summer and largest in winter; and(c) the offshore wave energy density of Shandong Peninsula is less than 0.5 kW/m in more than half of coastal time and has a tendency to increase year by year.

Based on the status of urban system special structure of the Shandong peninsula blue economic zones,using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research method,the feature of spatial structure in four dimensions:pole,axis,network and region is analyzed,and the optimization mode of spatial structure is put forward in this paper.The study shows that the Shandong peninsula blue economic zones are in the gathering stage of development and the city distributes balanced relatively.According to thepole-axistheory,the optimization mode of the Shandong peninsula blue economic zones is to form a spatial pattern of two economic zones,three economic centers,four developing economic axis,and multiple economic spots.As well,new innovative special management organization should be introduced to the Shandong peninsula blue economic zones.

The construction of Trans-Bohai Strait Passageway will greatly improve traffic structure in the Bohai Region, it will surely exert a significant influence on the economic contacts between cities in Shandong Peninsula and East Liaoning Peninsula. This paper measures influence of the economic contacts between cities in Shandong Peninsula and East Liaoning Peninsula on the construction of Trans-Bohai Strait Passageway, through modifying regional economic contacts gravity model and selecting GDP, non-agricultural population in city proper, time cost distance between cities and Krugman index. Results show that the construction of Trans-Bohai Strait Passageway can greatly strengthen the economic contacts intensity and clearly change the spatial distribution of economic contacts between cities in Shandong Peninsula and East Liaoning Peninsula, hence its potential benefits are enormous. The measure information of economic contacts has a certain reference value for the influence of economic contacts between cities in Shandong Peninsula and East Liaoning Peninsula on the construction of Trans-Bohai Strait Passageway.

The cultural exchange for ancient Jiaodong Peninsula and Liaodong Peninsula is determined by the particular geographical conditions. As early as 7000 years ago, the two peninsulas began to culturally exchange, and finally the culture in Jiaodong Peninsula replaced the aboriginal culture in Liaodong Peninsula.
