Abstract:
The development of flexible transparent conductive electrodes has been considered as a key issue in realizing flexible functional electronics. Inkjet printing provides a new opportunity for the manufacture of FFE due to simple process, cost-effective, environmental friendliness, and digital method to circuit pattern. However, obtaining high concentration of inkjet- printed silver nanowires (AgNWs) conductive ink is a great challenge because the high aspect ratio of AgNWs makes it easy to block the jetting nozzle. This study provides an inkjet printing AgNWs conductive ink with low viscosity and high concentration of AgNWs and good printing applicability, especially without nozzle blockage after printing for more than 4 h. We discussed the effects of the components of the ink on surface tension, viscosity, contact angle as well as droplet spreading behavior. Under the optimized process and formulation of ink, flexible transparent conductive electrode with a sheet resistance of 32 Ω·sqKeywords:

Presently, archives containing inkjet printed digital images stored in archiving departments are a delicate problem due to the fact that the quality and long term preservativity of inkjet printed images are seriously affected by various factors e.g.printing paper, printing ink etc. This paper presents a discussion on this subject and emphasizes that printing ink should be chosen according to the actual needs of printed material.

By inkjet-printing silver-nanoparticle ink into a liquid substrate, Y. Song and co-workers fabricate conductive microcables that are embedded in a transparent film, in work described on page 1420. By controlling the spreading of the ink droplet and the rheological properties of the liquid substrate, transparent multilayer circuits composed of high-resolution embedded cables are achieved using a commercial inkjet printer. As the silver cables are encapsulated by a poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) matrix, the embedded circuits can bend reversibly without an apparent resistance increase. This facile strategy provides a new avenue for inkjet-printing of highly integrated and transparent electronics, which is highly desirable in wearable electronics and implantable devices.

Conductive ink is a particular type of ink and is mainly used in screen printing. Now a new type of organic conductive ink has been introduced to our country. This paper is meant to investigate the categories of ink, its printablities, and stability of printing conductivity. By dealing with this problem, we not only can promote the application of conductive ink, but also will be benefited in developing this kind of conductive ink.

This research aims to characterize the quality of prints printed with inkjet printing technique, depending on the type of UV ink and printing substrate.Printing substrates were chosen as trending substrates for digital printing used for both indoor and outdoor applications and thus may be affected with a variety of different agents during production and in general use.The results led to the conclusion that on various substrates, HP HDR250 Scitex inks shown better results, as well as that fastness properties very much depend on the type of pigment in ink.

During the last couple of years several ink manufacturers have presented metal nano-particle inks for inkjet printing. These inks provide low resistances on plastic and paper substrates, thus enabling manufacturing of high-conductivity conductors that could be used in circuit boards.Inkjet printing of a commercial silver nano-particle ink on paper and plastic substrates has been investigated. The focus has been on making narrow lines and low resistance structures by varying substrate type, substrate temperature during printing and ink drop size.It has been found that the metal nano-particle inkjet inks are suitable for making conductors. Also the inkjet technology itself is ready to produce fine details required in circuit board manufacturing.

Temperature measurement is very important for thermal control, which is required for the advancement of mechanical and electronic devices. However, current temperature sensors are limited by their inability to measure curved surfaces. To overcome this problem, several methods for printing flexible substrates were proposed. Among them, electrohydrodynamic (EHD) inkjet printing technology was adopted because it has the highest resolution. Since EHD inkjet printing technology is limited by the type of ink used, an ink with temperature-sensing properties was manufactured for use in this printer. To confirm the applicability of the prepared ink, its resistance characteristics were investigated, and the arrangement and characteristics of the particles were observed. Then, the ink was printed using the EHD inkjet approach. In addition, studies of the meniscus shapes and line widths of the printed results under various conditions confirmed the applicability of the ink to the EHD inkjet printing technology and the change in its resistance with temperature.
