Abstract:
This paper presents a general model to carry out a small signal stability analysis in electrical power systems (EPSs) that operate in unbalanced conditions. The classic traditional approach is based on a phase representation where it is supposed that the triphasic electric grid does not suffer any variations during its operation. With the presence of unbalances in transmission lines and loads, it is necessary to develop a general model that allows answering the needs and challenges with which modern electric systems must deal. The present work firstly intends to address the three-phase representation of an EPS, including the controllers. The proposed model is applied to a classical test system, a three machine-nine bus system, considering all the dynamic and algebraic variations associated with angular stability analysis. The proposed approach to small signal stability analysis shows results that differ from the classical analysis. The results are backed up with time domain simulations, and therefore, these results could be used in the calculation of the controllers that operate in unbalanced multimachine systems. Keywords:

Abstract In this paper, we introduced certain types of stability of the fixed points in discrete dynamical systems which are pre-stability, pre-c-stability, and pre-ic-stability. We studied the relationships among these types of stability, also the relationships among these types of stability and certain types of stability which are stability, c-stability, and ic-stability

The paper presents a test system model to study the effect of variable wind power output on the stability of future power systems. The test system is built upon a future UK transmission system model and it contains different types of generators, HVDC transmission lines, and interconnections. A poorly damped inter-area mode is present in the test system that closely resembles the Scotland-England inter-area mode existing in the UK transmission system. The study system will help to analyze the impact of increased variability in power system operating conditions on the oscillatory mode.

Econometric analysis requires filtering techniques that are adapted to cater to data sequences that are short and that have strong trends. Whereas the economists have tended to conduct their analyses in the time domain, the engineers have emphasised the frequency domain. This paper places its emphasis in the frequency domain; and it shows how the frequency-domain methods can be adapted to cater to short trended sequences. Working in the frequency domain allows an unrestricted choice to be made of the frequency response of a filter. It also requires that the data should be free of trends. Methods for extracting the trends prior to filtering and for restoring them thereafter are described.
