An investigation was carried out to standardize the effect of pulsing concentration on vase life of gladiolus (Gladiolus grandiflorus L.) cv. White prosperity during the year 2017-2018. Spikes were harvested at early in the morning having 1-2 florets showed colour from the main experiment field. The maximum 10.33 days vase-life of flower was found with continuous opening of florets, increase in spike length, absorption of vase solution, first increase thereafter decreased, and moderate florets drooping could be observed, when gladiolus spikes were pulsed in to 20% pulsing solution for 24 hours.

Kuiiderd's Gladiolus1 am sure a great many of my friends and those interested in the pos¬ sibilities of new Gladioli will appreciate the fact that I am offering seed from my private planting. While there cannot be any assurance of just what exists in these seeds, the finest Gladiolus the world has ever seen may be produced from them. The parent stock is by far the best that has ever been produced, as proven by the fact that the Kunderd Gladiolus Varieties have won more times in more shows under more judges than all other Gladioli in the world combined.

The results of the experiment showed use of Gibberellic acid and plant spacing’s had been significantly. Highly influence on the most parameters such as number of corms per plant the not significant on higher amount of Gibberellic acid and wider spacing’s.

The experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of different growing media on vegetative, flowering and vase life characteristics of two LA lily hybrids Bach and Pavia in 2 factorial randomized block design with three replications. Of the two factors, first factor was two varieties namely, Bach and Pavia and the second factor was five growing media including (1) garden soil, (2) cocopeat, (3) cocopeat + sand (1:1) and (4) garden soil + sand (1:1). However, bulbs of LA lily hybrids were planted in plastic crates containing different growing media with 10 bulbs in each crate, placed inside 50 percent shadenet house. Final plant height (116.63 cm.) and number of flower buds (7.27) was highest in cv. Pavia at 60 days after planting. However, quickest flower bud appearance (29.53days) and maximum vase life (11.26 days) was in cv. Bach. Among the potting media, cocopeat found to be superior for enhancing all characteristics along with both the cultivars.

Lilium longiflorum has a wide applicability in the floral industry as cut flower and potted plants. Micropropagation in bulb plants is an alternative to the conventional methods for vegetative propagation which attracts much attention because of its advantages such as many fold multiplication rate. In present study an efficient micropropagation protocol in L. longiflorum has been developed. The highest bulblet regeneration (94%), maximum number of shoots (22), maximum shoot length (12 cm) and heaviest bulblets with average fresh weight (365 mg) were obtained in MS medium supplemented with BA 2.0 mg/l + NAA 0.5 mg/l. The treatment of MS medium with NAA 2.0 mg/l was most effective for rooting and gave maximum rooting (93%), maximum number of roots (19) and highest root length of 5.2 cm as compared to other treatments. The micropropagation from inoculation of scales to hardening was completed only in six months.
