    Abstract:
    The study was carried out in 6 villages of operational area of KVK, Nalanda, about the knowledge levels of the women dairy farmers with respect to the different component of Scientific Dairy Farming Practices (SDFP). Fifteen farmers from each village constituting the sample size of 90 farmers were included in the survey. The responses of the farmers were collected and statistically analyzed. The study revealed that majority of farmers had medium knowledge on different components of SDFP. But, very few farmers had high knowledge about the SDFP, which showed that different dairy development agencies working in Nalanda district were not providing adequate knowledge to the farmers. The knowledge index of different aspect of SDFP, viz. breeding, feeding, health care and management were 42, 37.84, 39.75 and 41.73%, respectively, and overall knowledge index of SDFP was 39.63, which indicated poor knowledge level of farmers in the study area. Therefore, the KVK, Nalanda should make proper action plan in which more training programmes could be organized on SDFP especially for women dairy farmers to empower them in dairying.

    Abstract Generally, Dairy cows maintenance traditionally by the farmer on a small scale and did not use Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This study was done to evaluate the application of Good Dairy Farming Practice (GDFP) at a smallholder dairy farm in Ambopi village. The methods used were a survey and distribution of questionnaires, observations and direct measurements. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in tabulated frequencies form to illustrate the characteristics of each aspect of raising dairy cows. Assessment of technical aspects of maintenance include: 1) Genetic and Reproduction; 2) Feeding; 3) Management; 4) Enclosures and equipment; 5) Animal health and 6) Animal welfare. The results showed the value of GDFP in unfavorable categories (C) i.e 1.67. Feeding, enclosure and equipment and also animal welfare are in a bad category (D) i.e 0.85; 0.75 and 0.60 respectively while the other technical aspects are in the quite good category (B). D value indicates the poor management of dairy cattle maintenance in Ambopi Village so it needs special attention to optimized milk production and dairy cows productivity.

    In this study, the resilience of farm production plan through different management adjustments was analyzed. For this purpose, a farm model based on mathematical programming was applied. Through organized workshops typical farms focusing on dairy production were defined through qualitative and quantitative classification. Data were obtained from various databases and expert assessments from the agricultural sector. Analysis of resilience was carried out for three of these typical dairy farms. Using the farm model, the production plan of each farm was reconstructed in the first step and then tested for possible deviations from the baseline. Gross margin was used as the main economic indicator. The results show that the typical farms have very different levels of efficiency and potential for improvement. Furthermore, it was found that all farms can achieve significantly higher gross margin only with improved feed quality, which indirectly leads to a lower need for purchased feed and consequently to lower variable costs and higher gross margin. The level of the latter is also significantly affected by the milk yield achieved, especially on larger farms. However, on smaller farms they can improve profitability more significantly by keeping dairy cows on pasture to a greater extent, which results in a reduction in harvesting costs.

    The purpose of this study is evaluate the application of Good Dairy Farming Practice (GDFP) dairy farm and knowing the application level of Good Dairy Farming Practice (GDFP) dairy farms in clusters dairy farms districts Ngantang and Kasembon.The research method used is survey method. Respondents used were 35 farmers from cluster members. Data analysis method used descriptive quantitative to analyze the implementation of dairy cattle management by GDFP. The result showed that the average value of good dairy farming practice included in the category of good with the value of GDFP as much as 2,79. The result of the excellentof GDFP evaluation is on feed and drink aspect 3,23 (good category) and the lowest GDFP value is breeding and reproduction aspect 2,36 (sufficientcategory)

    The study was designed to explore the women’s empowerment through small-scale dairy farming in Bangladesh. Small-scale dairy farm owners constituted the population of the present study. Among the population, the households who were actively engaged in dairy farming activities more than one year in the selected area of Mymensingh district, they were considered as the sample unit. For data collection, 50 households from the sample unit were randomly selected for interview. Simple percentages were calculated to show the frequency distribution at different categories of variables. Through small-scale dairy farming, rural women were able to increase their confidence and decision-making power with regard to their household and personal care and experienced increased self-esteem, expansion of their social circles, and ultimately enhanced empowerment through the breakdown of traditional socio-cultural norms. Thus, the expansion of small-scale dairy farming in other rural areas of Bangladesh is likely to contribute to the empowerment of more rural women. Asian Australas. J. Food Saf.     The Japanese agriculture has been deeply damaged by an increase of imported agricultural products. In the course of in creasing import, main agricultural regions in Japan has been suffered. Under the circumstance, agricultural cooperatives are expected to promote regional agriculture and to sustain regional economy. In the paper, case studies show how agricultural cooperatives promote regional agriculture.

    In order to have a more precise description of dairy farm structure and characteristics of dairy production systems, as well as to assess possibilities for improving production and farming conditions in which milk production is organized, a survey based research was directed at a select group of farms across the Serbia. 1180 questionnaires have been mailed to farmers whose farms are registered for either cattle or mixed production. Questionnaire was divided into 6 sections: general information of the farm, agricultural and structural information, zootechnical information, sanitary and veterinarian information, information about education and extension, and information on the perspectives of future farming. About 59% of analyzed farms have size up to 20 ha, with average size of about 10 ha. On the other hand, about 55% farms raises up to 15 cows and heifers with average of 6 heads per farm, while 3% of farms have more than 200 cows and heifers. Over 86% of surveyed farmers intend to expand existing farm production, mainly by increasing the number of animals, stricter selection and improvement of the conditions for feeding, housing, care and milking. About 75% of farmers have expressed a positive expectation from future membership of Serbia in EU, although these expectations are not clearly defined.

    The twenty-first century is an educated agricultural time.This paper begins with analyzing the distinguishing features of educated agriculture and its requirements of the high agricultural universities and colleges,and then sums up the experiences of the services of ShanXi Agricultural University to the educated agriculture.Moreover,combining the reality of Shanxi,the paper suggests that the educated agriculture should be research projects in these fields of breeding animals and plants,drying farming as water-saving,biological engineering,ecological environments,agriculture of facilities and so on,and proposes five ways of doing the job well.
