    Abstract:
    Photovoltaic systems contains photovoltaic panels that are made up of photovoltaic cells, the inverter, electrical connections, and the mechanical support of photovoltaic panels. The role of the inverter is to obtain alternating current for charging from the direct current obtained from solar energy. Grid-connected photovoltaic panels can be on-grid, off-grid or hybrid. Both the material used and the costs of materials play an important role in optimizing the efficiency of photovoltaic panels. To increase efficiency, photovoltaic panels must be installed so as to maximize direct exposure to sunlight. The efficiency, reliability and durability of photovoltaic panels can be reduced by the presence of certain defects of photovoltaic modules or dust accumulation. An important role in optimization is also played by the methods for determining the power point, which must be at the maximum level in order to optimize the energy transfer from the photovoltaic panel to the load. Optimizing energy consumption and reducing costs is also achieved by implementing a SCADA automation system, as well as by minimizing the power fluctuation of on-grid photovoltaic panels using a super capacitor energy storage system. This paper also presents different types of inverters adapted to maximize the production of photovoltaic energy. In the analyzed literature, the main directions of research in the sense of optimizing photovoltaic panels focus on an improvement design, optimal operation and proper maintenance.

    Solar photovoltaic based power and energy systems are gaining recognition due to the availability and high solar insolation in most parts of India and the inherent advantage of direct conversion to power unlike a solar thermal system. Solar photovoltaic technology, its application in remote areas, its advantage as a stand alone system, environmentally friendly and inexhaustible source are some of the positive features of this wonderful source of nature. However, the limitations of day and night cycles and high costs in comparison to other sources of energy hinder its ready acceptance. More and more research is called for in the area of solar photovoltaics along with the discovery of alternative materials with higher efficiency of conversion, reduced panel areas per kW and effective, economic and durable storage systems for sustained production of power. This source alone, if costs can be reduced substantially, can meet the entire requirement of the country. Solar photovoltaics can also be utilised for bulk power for grid interconnected applications. It has a good scope for utilisation on the hybrid system, for pumping of drinking water and remote area power systems. This paper discusses all the features of the solar photovoltaic system, its cost comparison with other sources, its merits and demerits as of now, Government policy support, R&D efforts in India and strategies for commercialisation.

    Both the producing of electricity and the collecting of thermal energy could be achieved by the using of Photovoltaic/thermal solar system. The basic form of the representative photovoltaic/thermal solar collectors and the new photovoltaic/thermal solar collectors were introduced. The features of the photovoltaic/thermal solar collectors were researched. Both electricity and thermal energy could be obtained through photovoltaic/thermal integrated building applications. The energy could be utilized. A great foreground was obtained.

    The paper provides a review of the scientific and technical literature, statistics in the field of solar energy, the reasons for the rapid development of photovoltaics and ways to increase the energy efficiency of photovoltaic installations. The most effective way to increase the efficiency of solar power plants is to use solar tracking systems (trackers). The article describes the photovoltaic installation consisting of a stationary photovoltaic module and a photovoltaic module with a dual-axis solar tracker. The results of testing the photovoltaic installation are presented. Testing of the installation has been carried out on the territory of Orenburg State University. The use of the solar module with a dual-axis tracking system in June 2019 has led to an increase in electricity generation by 36.1% (compared to generating electricity using a solar module that is oriented south at a fixed angle).

    Abstract This paper is an introduction to the topics of photovoltaic solar energy conversion and with the help of solar illuminations; street lightings are employed in the surroundings of NIT JALANDHAR. The paper presents the Energy problem in the world: Growing consumption of energy. Solar radiation is described as a main source of renewable energy as well as possible applications of this energy by means of thermal conversion and photovoltaic conversion. The functionality of stand alone solar system is completely different than hybrid kind of solar system. Photovoltaic effect in the p-n junction and physical processes in the photovoltaic structures of solar cells are presented. The performance of each solar panel has been co-related through current and voltage (I-V) curve. The panel size and battery required to operate a better functionality is the key idea of solar photovoltaic system design and its smooth operation. The required number of batteries should be inline such a way that it does fulfil the requirement of power output.

    A novel hybrid photovoltaic/thermovoltaic solar system (PV/TV) was designed with PV cells combined with heat collector and thermoelectric generator. This PV/TV model can collect heat from the solar panels to reduce its surface temperature, and then to generate electricity by using of temperature difference technology and devices. In this paper, electricity generation performance of PV/TV system between April to October was tested and discussed. The application of this system in photovoltaic building was discussed. The results indicate that overall efficiency of this PV/TV system is higher than that of a pure PV system, and about 5%-15% efficiency increase.

    The design and application of solar photovoltaic power station,which is connected with city power grid,were analyzed.The three composing parts of the gridconnected solar photovoltaic power station,such as solar panels,grid-connected inverters and lightning protection devices were introduced.Some project was given and it was pointed out that the station could be used in building emergency lighting system.
