    Abstract:
In this paper, we examine how the past alliance behavior of nations affects the likelihood that these states will be involved in alliance formation. We contend that nations evaluate the reputations of potential allies when searching for alliance partners. Reputation information is processed by governments along with other immediate concerns. By introducing a model and developing subsequent measures of reputational alliance histories, we improve upon our current understanding of the factors that drive alliance formation. Using alliance reputation data derived from the ATOP project (1816–2000), we find support for the hypothesis that a reputation for upholding one's agreements significantly improves the likelihood of membership in future alliances.
Over the past years, unprecedented attention has been paid to alliance management in the academic and management literature. However, failure rates of alliances have remained very high. Nonetheless, research efforts have shown that alliance management can be significantly enhanced by prior alliance experience. Consequently, it has become important for firms to understand how to make use of their alliance experience and how to develop alliance capabilities. On the basis of a global survey among alliance managers, this study aims to reveal recent trends in alliance capability building and tries to uncover novel ways in which firms try to enhance their alliance performance.

The authors explored the strength of the alliance and the depth of meaningful experiences in counseling. Interviews of participants were conducted to elicit experiences, whereas the alliance was measured using the Working Alliance Inventory. Results indicate the stronger the alliance, the greater depth of meaningful experiences. Implications for counselors are given.

In the post-cold war,the collapse of the bipolarstructure and literalism of the US tremendously damaged the EU-US alliance,As far as interest, identity and institutions are concerned, however, the three pillars still remain functioning. In addition, both EU and the US have strong willingness to keep their alliance. Thus,Atlantic Alliance does not and will not end, but it takes on new features of an alliance of global governance.
