    Abstract An investigation of the effect of sample dimensions on the oxidation of polypropylene is described. The results are used to select testing conditions. Two examples of the utility of the method are presented. First, a control method for uninhibited polypropylene and, secondly, an investigation of the synergistic effect between 2,6‐di‐t‐butyl‐p‐cresol and dilaurylthiodipropionate.

This book explores common properties, advantages and drawbacks of polypropylene, and the means that researchers have been studying as a manner of solve the main disadvantages of polypropylene by the use of additives such as nanoparticles, blend compatibilizers, hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS). These materials have been proved succesful to mantain polypropylene as a top choice in the field of thermoplastics.

    For increasing the toughness of polypropylene and expanding its applications,the modification mechanism polypropylene is discussed in this paper, and the inorganic particles (calcium carbonate)and organic plastic materials (polyethylene St) are used to modify the polypropylene in this article.The characterization of the polypropylene modified by calcium carbonate and St-modified shows much better toughness and mechanical strength than the pure polypropylene.

    In this paper,various behavior of homo-polypropylene and co-polypropylene were studied,including thermo-oxidant aging,stress white,post shrinkage after different treatment conditions,and dyeing.After thermo-oxidant aging,the impact strength of homo-polypropylene decreased remarkably,however,that of co-polypropylene increased up to 200 % at first,and then decreased slowly.The resistance to stress whitening of homo-polypropylene was better than that of co-polypropylene.After heat treatment and boiled in water,the post shrinkage of polypropylene with high crystallinity was lower than that of polypropylene with low crystallinity.When the blackness of polypropylene was larger,the hue was more bluish.
