    Abstract:
    Introduction: The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a great global public health problem caused by a retrovirus that infects cells of the human immune system, destroying or impairing their function. In the early stages of infection, the person has no symptoms. HIV can be transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse, transfusion of contaminated blood, through contaminated needles and between a mother and her infant. In 2017, globally, 36.9 million people are living with HIV and 940000 people died from HIV related causes. The total number of people living with HIV in India is estimated at 21.40 lakhs people in 2017. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was done among college students from engineering colleges in Pondicherry from April 2018 to September 2018. The selection of study subjects was done using simple random sampling. After getting informed consent from the individuals a pre-tested, semi-structured questionnaire was administered. Data were entered on and analysed using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Descriptive statistics were used and results were expressed as proportions. Results: The majority of the students, about 92.4% had heard about HIV/AIDS, about 92.4% of the participants were aware that HIV can spread through body fluids such as blood, sexual contact, urine. More than half 52.7% of students are aware that migrant workers, lorry drivers, commercial sex workers are high-risk groups for HIV/AIDS. 68.8% of students don’t know their HIV status. 65.2% were not willing to isolate HIV infected people from society. Conclusion: There is an immediate need for more health education and awareness campaign among students about HIV/AIDS. The Ministry of Education found better methods to deliver the necessary information about HIV/AIDS through the Internet, social media and mobile applications, information hotlines, pamphlets and printed educational materials.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of beneficiary participation on the implementation of sand dam drift projects in Kaiti Sub-County.Methodology: The study used descriptive research design. The target population for the study was all 19, 656 households in Kaiti Sub-County. The sample size was 150 household. The study used simple random sampling to select the household. The households’ heads were the respondents. The study used primary data gathered by use of a structured and semi-structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics such as, mean and frequencies and inferential statistics, regression and correlation analysis, were used to perform data analysis. A multiple linear regression analysis model was used to test the hypotheses and link the variables. Results: The findings indicated that there was a positive and a significant relationship between Beneficiaries’ participation in identification of project activities, Beneficiary Commitment, Beneficiary knowledge and Capacity building and the implementation of sand dam drift projects.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: The findings of this study are useful to the government in policy formulation on community project involvement.

    The purpose of this study was to know the effect of training on employees’ performance at Pharmacy of PT Kimia Farma Unit Bandung. Method of collecting data was done through distributing questionnaires to 68 respondents. This research applied quantitative and descriptive-causality analysis methods. The samples were taken by probability sampling method with simple random sampling type. Whereas, statistical analysis technique used was simple regression analysis. Analyses of data used were descriptive analysis, classical assumption test, and simple linear regression analysis. The results demonstrated that training significantly influenced by reaching the amount of 41.1% and the rest of 58.9% influenced by other factors which were not examined.

    This review paper examines the topic of descriptive statistics, which is a study of statistics, deriving from basic mathematics. The paper discusses common descriptive statistics using a combination of numerical examples and graphical demonstrations. The paper introduces the definitions of some basic descriptive statistics and their corresponding formulas. The paper then reviews several research articles published in recent years in which researchers have used descriptive statistics to help analyze housing prices and the relationship between the stock market and trust. This review paper consults tables from other research articles with descriptive statistics and uses specific data to demonstrate how these statistics help researchers draw meaningful conclusions about the subjects of the analysis. The final conclusion is that although descriptive statistics is a simple method of summarizing data, it is fundamental and meaningful in statistical analysis and that can be used as a building block on which further analysis can be based.

    Objectives: Statistics is widely used in various fields of study. However, understanding statistics has created problems among students.This study was conducted to examine anxiety towards statistics using descriptive study. Methods/ Statistical Analysis:182 students from postgraduate level were chosen randomly comprised of 39 males and 143 females. A set of questionnaire on anxiety towards statistics of 50 items was distributed to them. The collected data was analysed using SPSS version 22. Findings: The findings revealed that the students’ anxiety towards statistics was at a moderate level. In addition, the relationship between students’ anxiety towards statistics was significantly low and in a negative direction. Applications/Improvements: As a conclusion, statistics has to be mastered by students, particularly at the postgraduate level as a minimum requirement for them to use in research.Keywords: Anxiety, Descriptive Study, Graduates, Statistics, Students

    Abstract This study aims to analyze the effect of environmental ethics knowledge on household waste management behaviour in Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City. The research data collection was conducted from October to November 2020. The data was collected using a questionnaire from 127 homemakers. Respondents were selected using a simple random sampling method. The data that has been collected is processed and analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, namely simple linear regression. The simple linear regression analysis results indicate that Environmental Ethics Knowledge has a significant positive effect on Household Waste Management Behavior ((3 = 0.215, p <0.05). These results indicate that increasing knowledge about environmental ethics can improve the behaviour of homemakers in managing household waste. Thus, it is hoped that homemakers can increase their knowledge of environmental ethics to improve their behaviour in managing household waste.
