    Abstract:
This study discussed the feasibility of bio binders derived from swine manure as the alternative of bitumen. The bio-oil was converted from swine manure via the fast pyrolysis technology. Subsequently, the bio-oil upgraded to bio binders through a preheating treatment. In terms of the lack of studies regarding the compatibility of bitumen and bio binders, this study respectively investigated the blends of bitumen and bio binders from chemical and mechanical perspectives. Mainly, the chemical characterization consisted of extensive measurements using the Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), the Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) and, the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). As for the mechanical performance, the blends of bitumen and bio binders with a content of 5% and 10% by mass were firstly produced and then subjected to the Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) test. Results indicated that the addition of bio binders could enhance the low-temperature performance of the bitumen to some extent. At the low or medium temperature, the blends showed favorable thermal stability. However, the incompatibility issue is noticeable at high temperatures, especially during the mixing and compaction process in practice.

This paper aims to investigate the relationship between the Superpave rutting parameter of asphalt (G﹡/sin δ) by conducting Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) tests with the rut depth values obtained by the wheel track device. The twenty asphalt mixtures have been prepared with twenty types of unmodified asphalts and Polymer-Modified Binders (PMBs). SBS was used to produce PMBs. The twenty base and modified asphalts have been used to prepare asphalt paving mixtures required to conduct wheel track tests. The predicted model of asphalt mixtures rut depth related to asphalt rutting parameter (G﹡/sin δ) values has been founded. Besides, the minimum limits of (G﹡/sin δ) of aged asphalt have been gotten as 3.25 kPa for Iraqi asphalt cement.

the aging existing in use and construction of bituminous pavement will directly resulting in shortening of the pavement’s service life. It is provide the theoretical basis of the design and construction of the SBS modified asphalt mixture to analyze the influence of aging to the rheological property of SBS modified asphalt under high temperature. The testing for the rheological property of three kinds SBS modified asphalt under high temperature has been finished before and after the aging in construction by Brookfield DV Ⅱ+ type of rotation viscometer. The results indicated that viscosity will be increased and the sensitivity of SBS modified asphalt to viscosity will also be lowered along with increase of aging degree. The testing for the rheological property of three kinds of SBS modified asphalt has been finished before and after aging in usage period by the dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). The results shown that G* will be continually increased along with increase of aging degree and this is consistent with change of base asphalt. And this shown that the increase of G* can only come down to oxidation and aging of base asphalt contained in the modified asphalt and also, asphaltene in SBS modified asphalt will be changing in the mode same with that of base asphalt.

In order to establish the mixture design method for warm mix asphalt(WMA),Marshall test was conducted under variable temperatures and compaction times to prepare AC-13C WMA specimens, and the volume characteristics of WMA specimens were researched.Analysis result indicates that the air void volume(VV) and the percent voids in mineral aggregate(VMA) increase with the decrease of compaction temperatures and compaction times, but the percent voids in mineral aggregate that are filled with asphalt(VFA) decrease.Compared with hot mix asphalt(HMA),the asphalt content absorbed by aggregates, the effective asphalt content(mass fraction) and the thickness of asphalt film in WMA differ a little, and the optimum asphalt content of AC-13C WMA is 4.7%.According to the volume characteristics, the compaction temperatures of WMAs are determined, and the compaction temperatures of WMAs with matrix asphalt and SBS modified asphalt decrease by about 10 ℃-20 ℃ and 10 ℃ respectively.WMA compactibility is better, and the compaction times of WMAs with matrix asphalt and SBS modified asphalt decrease by about 20% and 10% respectively.4 tabs,10 figs,13 refs.

In order to evaluate the high and low temperature rheological properties of different modified asphalt, this paper prepared different types of modifiers and short-term aging modified asphalt (RTFOT), using dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) and bending beam rheological test (BBR) to compare and analyze the deformation resistance and stress sensitivity of different types (organic and inorganic) modified asphalt, determine its PG classification, and evaluate its fitting parameters with the help of Burgers model. The low-temperature mechanical properties of the fitting parameters were evaluated by the Burgers model; the chemical composition of different modified asphalts was analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and the microscopic state of the modified asphalts was observed by fluorescence microscopy. The results show that: with the increase of temperature, the high temperature deformation resistance of organic modified asphalt is better than that of inorganic modified asphalt, and PE modified asphalt is the best, and the low temperature performance of inorganic modified asphalt is poor, and the addition of SBS It will improve the low temperature crack resistance of asphalt. The road performance of different modified asphalts from strong to weak are PE modified asphalt, SBS modified asphalt, diatomite modified asphalt, montmorillonite modified asphalt. The research results have certain reference value for further research on different types (organic and inorganic) of modified asphalt.
