    HiTAC(High temperature Air Combustion) is a promising technology known as high air preheating temperature,low oxygen concentration and low NOx emission.HiTAC technology has been successfully applied in pulverized coal HiTAC and MSW(Municipal Solid Waste) incineration.The paper reviews that research development of solid fuels HiTAC in order to promote pulverized coal low NOx combustion technology and MSW incineration technology.

    The effective pretreatment for municipal solid waste (MSW) before disposel can not only decrease the capacity of MSW and improve the effect of disposel, but also recover part of resource materials. Due to the various characteristics of MSW and different methods of disposal, a uniform system cannot meet the needs to dispose MSW but cause unnecessary waste of resources. In this paper, for the need of MSW incineration and its characteristics, the design of MSW pretreatment system of incinerators and the main parameters of equipment are analyzed. A pretreatment system matched with the circulating fluidized bed incinerator is introduced.

    A new CFD-code "3d-MSW" to predict the waste bed combustion in the stoker-type Municipal Solid Waste Incinerators (MSWI) was developed. 3d-MSW was validated by comparison with the combustion tests in a pilot incinerator. The calculation results could predict the waste bed combustion under not only normal air but also oxygen enrichment air. Grate moving velocity in an actual incinerator was also evaluated by applying the new code. 3d-MSW could present the influence of the grate moving velocity on gas temperature and carbon monoxide concentration. 3d-MSW is very useful as a simulation tool for understanding the phenomenon of the waste bed combustion in the stoker-type MSWI.
    According to the characteristics of municipal solid waste(MSW) in China,the study on the present incineration technology of municipal solid waste was carried out.Results showed that the chain grate furnace is suitable for the incineration of MSW in our country,which is of higher water content and lower calorific value.It should be developed in the power generation industry of waste incineration.The combination technology of semidry flue gas desulphurization with fabric fil-ter is the better solution for the flue gas cleaning.The study could be used as reference for build-ing and running of MSW incineration power plants.

    The combustion characters of municipal solid waste (MSW) residential area have been studied by TGA. The ignition temperature and combustion temperature has been determined by the experiments. According to the detail characters, the suggestions about the design of MSW incinerator have been put forward.
