    The duration of the guarantee is a duration that can't be changed. It shouldn't be discontinued, ceased or prolonged by any cases. The assurance in the duration of the guarantee relies on laws or client's appointments. For the case that client doesn't have the appointment or the appointment is not clear, how to assure the duration of the guarantee is discussed for different situations. The maximum mortgage of guarantee has its own characters, the major problem is the transition from the duration of the guarantee to proceeding prescription.

    The aim of this study is to reveal the views and suggestions of the undergraduate students about the course of piano. Positive views of the students regarding the course are as follows: trainers are very interested in their performance in the course, trainers are role models for them in regard to playing the piano, trainers follow the course hours and the evaluation process of the course is reliable. The participants' negative views about the course are as follows: etudes are very challenging and trainers may not have necessary competence in regard to playing the piano since the class sizes are very high.

    It is important to reduce construction duration in private sales and lease business for management of cash now in the owner's aspect. However, because the concept of standard duration hasn't been established in the domestic construction industry, it is difficult to present the standard of duration estimate. To solve this problem, this paper (1) grasped the effecting elements considered in the duration estimate through referring the existing literature related to the schedule management, (2) accomplished a comprehensive research on actual duration based on office buildings through the questionnaire survey and the expert interview, (3) presented the collected research data analyzed by effecting elements as standard duration, (4) compared standard duration with actual duration of countries advanced in construction projects as well as analyzed them, and then (5) raised the necessity of duration reduction in the domestic construction industry

    Under the current trend of curriculum reform in higher education worldwide, many institutions have taken the initiatives to develop English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) courses to cater for students’ diverse needs for disciplinary learning and future professional practices. This paper illustrates the pedagogical innovations in an ESAP course to facilitate undergraduates’ disciplinary learning at an international university in Hong Kong. It investigates how students, faculty teachers and course developers perceived and reflected upon the opportunities and challenges in implementing the revamped ESAP course. Our reflections reveal the importance of promoting flipped writing classroom and sustainable feedback practices in the ESAP classroom and interdisciplinary collaboration between ESAP course developers and faculty teachers. This paper will be of interest not only to ESAP practitioners but also to subject teachers who intend to promote best practices for sustainable disciplinary studies through English teaching and learning in higher education.

    Ship navigation safety in restricted water areas is of great concern to crew members, because ships proceeding in close proximity to banks will undertake a powerful influence from the so-called ship-bank interaction. The purpose of this paper is to apply the optimal control theory to help helmsmen plan ships' trajectory and maintain the expected course in restricted waters. To achieve this objective, the motion of a very large crude carrier (VLCC) close to a bank is modeled with the linear equations of manoeuvring and the influence of bank effect on the ship hydrodynamic force is considered in the model. State-space framework is cast in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system, where the scheme of model predictive control (MPC) is designed for course planning and the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) is used for course keeping. Simulation results show that the control methods effectively work in ship trajectory planning and course keeping with varying ship-bank distances. And the advantage of adopting speed variation as the second control input is obvious.
