Abstract:
An investigation was carried out at Potato Research Station Sialkot during 2014-15 and 2015-16 crop season to find out suitable fungicides to combat the late blight disease of potato. Six fungicides viz. Ridomil Gold, Defeater, Puslan, Success, Aleitte and Dithane M-45 were tested against the disease in two consecutive seasons. All the fungicides reduced the late blight disease incidence of potato over control. Among the fungicides, alternate spray of Ridomil Gold and Dithane M-45 was found highly effective to minimize the late blight and to increase the yield of potato. Keywords:

Control efficacy of four fungicides on potato late blight was determined in field experiment. The results showed that four fungicides were effective for potato late blight control and yield prevention. The best fungicide was 687.5 g/L of fluopicolide 800 times liquid and 25% of mandipropamid1 700 times liquid.Yield was increased by 130% compared with the water control. The second control efficacy of fungicides was 52.5%famoxate 1 000times liquid and 53% ridomil gold 500 times liquid.

[Objective]To screen out potato late blight (Phytophthora infestans) prevention fungicides. [Method]The three kinds of pesticides, respectively, 58% WP Metalaxyl MZ and 70% of the Antai Sheng WP and Silver Farley 687.5 g/L SC, were used to conduct the potato late blight control efficacy. [Result]The control efficacy of silver Farley on potato late disease was better than 58% WP metalaxyl MZ and 70% An Taisheng WP, and the recovery rate of yield loss reached 223.77%. [Conclusion]The results provided scientific references to the exploration of new method on potato late blight prevention, development of new effective fungicides, and improvement on effects of disease prevention and yield saving.

Six fungicides and one control were evaluated for their late blight control efficacy in order to select out the effective chemicals to prevent yield loss and poor quality of potatoes. All fungicides tested were effective for late blight control,of which Cyazofamid(10% SC) and Cymoxanil Mancozeb(72% WP) showed the best results for late blight control and yield prevention, followed by Famoxadone + Cymoxanilm(52.5%) and Sandofan M8 WP,and then by Fluazinam(50% SC) and copper hydroxide.

The experiment was to determine the field control efficacy of seven fungicides to potato late blight. The results indicated that the control efficacy of Fluopicolide 68.75% SC(1 125 g / ha),Ridomil Gold-MZ 53% WG(1 500 g / ha),Flumorph + Mancozeb 60% WP(1 225 g / ha) and Curzate 72% WP(2 000 g / ha) were 88.38%,86.15%,84.55% and 81.68%,respectively.These were ideal chemicals to control potato late blight, and obvious for yield increase. Thus, these fungicides should be recommended for use alternatively in potato production.

Potato cultivars grown in Bangladesh have low levels of general resistance to late blight. As such, most commercial potato farmers rely on fungicide applications for control of Phytophthora infestans, the causal agent of late blight. Management of late blight of potato requires an integrated approach that includes rotation with non-hosts, resistant cultivars, cultural practices, and fungicides. The study on efficacy of some new fungicides against late blight disease of potato was conducted at ARS, Alamnagar Rangpur during rabi season 2010-2011 to select suitable fungicides against late blight of potato. Thirteen different fungicides were tested and all the tested fungicides showed significantly better performance over control. Considering percentage disease incidence T4,T6 and T12 showed better performance than all other treatment. In case of T4,T6 and T12 treatment disease reduction was more than 80 % over control. Significantly the highest tuber yield 25.5 t ha-1was obtained from T3 which was statistically similar to the yield of T2,T5 , T6, T9, T10, T11and T12 treatment whereas the lowest tuber yield 14.5 t ha-1 was obtained from control treatment. Field experiment was conducted from 2010 to 2011 to investigate the comparative efficacy of the fungicides. In the field, applications of fungicide that preceded the largest incremental increase in disease incidence provided the best control of disease or increased yield.Progressive Agriculture 26 (2): 103-108, 2015

Control efficacy of seven fungicides onA potato late blight was determined in field experiment. The Seven fungicides had obvious control efficacies on potato late blight. The best four fungicides were 25% Mandipropamid,50% Fluazinam,0.5% Matrine and 30% Azoxystrobin, and control efficacies of these fungicides were more than 80%.Followed fungicide is 45% triphenyltinacetate,68.75% Fluopicolide, and control efficacy was more than 70%.The worse fungicide was 52.5% Famoxadone + Cymoxanilm, and control efficacy was 65%.These fungicides should be recommended for use alternatively in potato production to avoid resistance. The results provided scientific references to the exploration of new method on potato late blight prevention and yield saving.

Potato cultivars grown in Pakistan have low levels of general resistance to late blight. Mostly the commercial potato farmers rely on fungicide applications for control of Phytophthora infestans, the causal agent of late blight. Field trials were conducted during the year 2008 at the Vegetable Research area of the Institute of Horticultural Sciences, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan to evaluate the effectiveness of three fungicides viz. Tazoline (Mancozeb + Metalaxy), Flint Max (Trifloxystrobin) and Kocide (Copper cxychloride) application on eight potato varieties. Application of fungicide treatments considerably reduced (P≤0.05) late blight disease progress, with a corresponding decrease in disease index. The highest reduction in disease was achieved by applying Tazoline in the cultivar SH-103, followed by Kocide and least by Flint Max at an intervals of 07, 14, 21 and 28 days. Over all our results demonstrated that weekly sprays were more economical and feasible for the management of late blight of potato.

Late blight disease of potato, causal agent, Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, is one of the serious diseases for potato production. Application of fungicides is an effective management option to control late blight. Field experiment was conducted during winter season of 2018 for evaluation of the efficacy of fungicides on late blight management and potato yields in research field of Prithu Technical College, Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Gadawa, Lamahi Dang, Nepal. Six fungicides i.e. Relaxyl (Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64 %), Antracol (Propineb 70 %), Sectin (Mancozeb 50% + Fenamidone 10%), Dithan M 45 (Mancozeb 75 %), Targon (Metalaxyl 35%), Bavistin (Carbendazim 50 %) and a nontreated control (NTC) were replicated three times in a randomized complete block design planted with late blight susceptible potato variety Cardinal. Fungicide application considerably reduced late blight progress, with a corresponding increase in tuber yield. The least disease severity (18.67%), least disease incidence (5.33%), least mean AUDPC (85.56) and highest tuber yield (9.49 kg/plot) were recorded on application of Sectin @ 2 g/L. The disease incidence and AUDPC value was negatively corelated with the tuber yield. The result revealed that the fungicide Sectin was most effective in controlling late blight disease of potato and to increase tuber yield.
