    The title compound CuN2O2C16H16 [Cu(PP)2] crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P[unk], with a = 10.667(4) Å, b = 10.553(4) Å, c = 9.964(4) Å, α = 105.2°, β = 97.8°, γ = 87.9° {σ = 0.2°), Z = 3. The structure which consists of trimers of CuN2O2C16H16 exhibits hexa- and penta-coordinated copper atoms. The crystal structure has been refined to R = 0.038 for 2268 observed reflections.

The crystal structure was determined by direct methods and refined by least-squares procedure to a discrepancy factor R = 0.040 (Rw = 0.037).
