This genus, assigned to the family Cytherideidae, subfamily Cuneocytherinae, is the first member of the subfamily to be described from North America. It is abundant in samples from the Lower Cretaceous Kiamichi Formation, uppermost Fredericksburg, Tarrant County, Texas.

Pterosaur remains are very rare in Australasia and especially in Upper Cretaceous strata. Thus, the discovery of a jaw fragment from the Cenomanian–Coniacian Molecap Greensand near Gingin in Western Australia represents an important new stratigraphical occurrence for the region. Although the teeth are not preserved, the presence of labio-lingually compressed alveoli that are anterolaterally oriented, variable in shape/size (inferring heterodonty) and very widely spaced is reminiscent of ornithocheirids—a geographically cosmopolitan clade of predominantly Early Cretaceous pterodactyloids. If correct, this identification could extend the known range of Ornithocheiridae through to the Late Cretaceous in the Southern Hemisphere.

Fragmentary cranial bones of dinosaur origin have been recently recovered from the Kem Kem beds (Upper Cretaceous, Cenomanian) of Morocco. They include two incompletely preserved maxillary bones evidencing diagnostic features of abelisaurid theropods. These new finds provide further evidence of Abelisauridae in the Late Cretaceous of Morocco.

In NE Mexico, the Cenomanian-Turonian plattenkalk of Vallecillo (state of Nuevo Leon) and the Turonian-Coniacian plattenkalk of Muzquiz (state of Coahuila) yield abundant fossil vertebrates and invertebrates with an exceptional preservation of soft parts. Inoceramid bivalves are the only benthic organisms in both deposits. They allow for detailed biostratigraphic subdivisions, precise dating and correlation with biozonations based on ammonites and foraminifers in both sections. In contrast to many other plattenkalks, the Mexican sediments were deposited in an open marine shelf environment, in a distance of >200 km from the nearest coast. Both Konservat-Lagerstatten formed near the southern opening of the Western Interior Seaway and contain mixtures of Western Interior Seaway and Tethyan faunal elements.

Abstract Brachauchenine pliosaurids were a cosmopolitan clade of macropredatory plesiosaurs that are considered to represent the only pliosaurid lineage that survived the faunal turnover of marine amniotes during the Jurassic- Cretaceous transition. However, the European record of the Early to early Late Cretaceous brachauchenines is largely limited to isolated tooth crowns, most of which have been attributed to the classic Cretaceous taxon Polyptychodon. Nevertheless, the original material of P. interruptus, the type species of Polyptychodon, was recently reappraised and found undiagnostic. Here, we describe a collection of twelve pliosaurid teeth from the upper Albian-middle Cenomanian interval of the condensed, phosphorite-bearing Cretaceous succession at Annopol, Poland. Eleven of the studied tooth crowns, from the Albian and Cenomanian strata, fall within the range of the morphological variability observed in the original material of P. interruptus from the Cretaceous of England. One tooth crown from the middle Cenomanian is characterized by a gently subtrihedral cross-section. Similar morphology has so far been described only for pliosaurid teeth from the Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous. Even though it remains impossible to precisely settle the taxonomic distinctions, the studied material is considered to be taxonomically heterogeneous.
