An investigation of the wetland from Bohai Gulf to Laizhou Bay by GIS and Landsat-7 shows that there are many types of wetlands, such as natural wetlands and artificial wetlands. This area has a wetland area of 15 060.29 km2. Natural wetlands have an area of about 10 071.31 km2, which make up about 67% of wetlands while artificial wetlands occupy about 4 988.98 km2, which constitute about 33% of wetlands in the study area.

Based on the multi-sensors remote sensing data of Landsat TM acquired in 1986 and 1994, Landsat ETM+ acquired in 2000, CBERS-02 CCD acquired in 2005, and ALOS AVNIR-2 acquired in 2009, the wetlands in Fuzhou coastal zone were classified using stratified decision rules. The coastal wetlands were divided into two categories: natural wetlands and artificial wetlands, from which the natural wetlands include five classes, while the artificial wetlands include three classes. The spatial patterns and dynamic changes of coastal wetlands from1986 to 2009 were analyzed. The main changes of coastal wetlands happened during 1994 to 2005, and there were only a few changes before 1994 and after 2005. From 1986 to 2009, the total area of wetlands had decreased. The area of natural wetlands had decreased during the whole period, and was mainly transformed into aquacultures and non-wetlands area such as construction lands. The area of artificial wetlands had decreased before 2000 and increased after 2000, in which the area of aquacultures had increased very rapidly, and were mainly transformed from non- wetlands area, paddy fields and natural wetlands. The spatial pattern and dynamic change of coastal zone was jointly affected by local policies adjustment, the driving of economic interests and population increase. The temporal wetlands changes were closely related to the local policies.

According to the divide standard of important wetlands, this paper decide the important wetlands of west Jilin including the Chagan Lake wetlands, Xianghai wetlands, Momoge wetlands, Dabusu Lake wetlands etc. and discuss their ecological environment function. That will have certain significance for these wetlands protection, management and exploit.

According to the field surveys and Southern China Yearbook data, we used a qualitative and quantitative combination method in this paper. From the three aspects of wetland area, wetland spatially and temporally dynamic changes and wetland landscape pattern changes, we researched and analyzed the status and trends systematically of wetlands in Southern China in past 20 years. Then we explored the influencing factor of wetland changes in Southern China, and then presented protection measures. The results showed that the wetlands in Southern China were mainly natural lakes and rivers wetlands, followed by artificial wetlands. Under the influence of climate, society, culture and other factors, original natural wetland area in Southern China decreased by 43%. The types of wetlands had also undergone an significant change and a series of ecological problems appeared.

Wetlands usually are distributed at the connection zone of terrestrial ecosystems and aquatic ecosystems, and formed by the interaction of them.It provides such ecological services as water storage, flood mitigation, water purification and stabilization of local climatic conditions, etc.Wetland is viewed as 'kidney of the Nature' due to its abundant resources and unique ecological structure and functions.Based on the Northeast climatic regionalization, the basic thought of physiognomy landscape is presented in this paper, and the main wetlands in Northeast China are classified into several types, such as wetlands in northern slopes of Great Xing'anling Mountains, wetlands in Sanjiang Plain, wetlands in Songnen Plain, wetlands in XiaoXing'anling Mountains and Changbai Mountains, wetlands in Kerqin, wetlands in middle and lower reaches of Liao river, wetlands in Liaodong gulf and wetlands in Hulunbeir.According to China wetlands database, there are 65 patches of wetlands which is more than 10km~2 in the Northeast.Based on the global climatic grid(0.50×0.50)database which was built by Leemans and Cramer(1990),in the seven patches of wetlands above, the climate data of 358 point grid in the Northeast from 1950 to 1989 are used to compute the Kira's Warmth Index(WI),Cold Index(CI) and Humidity index(HI).The WI of wetlands in the Northeast ranges from 20℃ per month to 103℃ per month and the CI is-205℃ per month to-80℃ per month. The HI is 4.5 mm/℃ per month-20mm/℃ per month. The index of the wetlands is lower than that at the same latitude because of the cold and humid effect of wetlands.Based on the analysis and modification of Holdridge life zone model, this paper makes an eco-climate research on the wetlands in the Northeast.According to the life zone index of the model, this paper gets the results: for the wetlands in northern slopes of Great Xing'anling Mountains,BT≤5.5℃、P≤450mm、PER≤1.0,it belongs to Cold temperate humid forests life zone;for wetlands in Sanjiang Plain,7℃BT≤8℃、500mmP≤550mm、1.0PER≤1.5,it belongs to Temperate semihumid forests/meadow prairie life zone;for wetlands in Songnen Plain,8℃BT≤9℃、400mmP≤550mm、1.5PER≤2.0,it belongs to Temperate semi-arid meadow prairie wetlands;for wetlands in XiaoXing'anling Mountains and Changbai Mountains,5.5℃BT≤7℃、500mmP≤650mm、PER≤1.0,it belongs to Temperate humid forests life zone;for wetlands in Kerqin and Hulunbeir,9℃BT≤9.8℃、400mmP≤500mm、1.5PER≤2.0,they belong to Temperate semi-arid prairie life zone;for wetlands in middle and lower reaches of Liao river, wetlands in Liaodong gulf,BT9.8℃、P650mm、1.0PER≤1.5,they belong to Warm temperate semi-humid meadow prairie life zone.
