Weaving is an example of art produced at the end of human need. The samples produced because they were needed first turned into art. It is not known exactly whether the art of weaving started as a carpet or as examples of plain weaving, rug weaving. Throughout history, carpet and rug weaving has developed in connection with each other. Rug weaving samples, which have an important place in Turkish culture, are accepted as source information about the period they were woven and the geography they were woven. Looking at kilim weaving examples, patterns are given with threads of different colors and different weaving techniques are used. Unlike carpet weaving, there is no pile height in weaving. The motifs used in the patterns are generally traditional motifs. Geometric motifs are used more frequently. In rug weaving, unlike carpet weaving, the threads are mostly twisted. Rug weaving samples found in the inventory records in the Niğde museum show that the rug weaving tradition is as old as carpet weaving in Niğde and its surroundings. The aim of this study is to share the information obtained as a written source on the general condition, pattern and color composition properties of the weaving samples in the exhibition hall and warehouse in the museum.

This study examines the benefits of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) in weaving sections. The research proposes a lane-changing advisory application to alleviate the lane-changing concentration in weaving sections by coordinating weaving vehicles. While non-weaving vehicles travel as normal, weaving vehicles are monitored and advised through personalized messages based on their destination lane. The findings of this research, derived from a microscopic simulation in AIMSUN, reveal that the proposed strategy has the potential to improve delay significantly and that it can be applied to any existing one-sided weaving sections.

This paper discusses the characteristics of cloth formation in weaving as regards continuous weaving, the concept of balanced weaving is put forward, and an equation of balanced weaving is then established for analyzing the response of the weaving process to disturbances of various kinds. Based on the analysis of beat-up resistance and weft yarn bouncing back, the cloth formation area is defined as an indicator of the weaving conditions. These discussions lead to control of fabric parameters.

In order to improve the performance of the weaving efficiency which is one of the most important efficiency factors for Aspect-oriented Programming(AOP),based on current research results that raise weaving-on-demand,weaving history mechanisms and weaving approach implementation based on log, this paper presents a log-based incremental weaving mechanism implementation. This method gives an aspect storage structure, based on this structure it can quantitatively describe current weaving state, computes the change of weaving state, and achieves incremental weaving to improve the efficiency of weaving.

A chronological overview of the historical facts of the art of hand weaving, with an emphasis on the development of large and complex patterns is provided. The development of looms or weaving machines through history for weaving fabric with large patterns is described. Hand weaving complex patterns from primitive weaving on frames to more complex weaving with two weavers operating one loom was especially explored. The beginning of Jacquard weaving and its application even to the electronic Jacquard looms has been emphasized. An analysis of the development of patterned fabrics with multiple effects was carried out. The analysis was conducted according to patterns using the shortened version of drawing a sample. The results show that it is possible to determine the technique of weaving and construction parameters of each fabric pattern that vary in color and/or in a weave used. The most accurate way to highlight the contours of the points of the transition of one effect into another, namely by shifting warp and weft interlacing points on the edges of each pattern (opposing thread float), is described. Based on the obtained results and finding an identical yarn, it is possible to replicate the pattern on the Jacquard loom.

Weaving sections widely spread among other traffic facilities. Different types of weaving section have been recognized through various editions of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM). However, the HCM has suffered from inability to represent driver behaviour at these sections. Therefore, for each type, there is a specific behaviour. This study has focused on investigating weaving characteristics using more than 60 hours of field data and also MIDAS data have involved. The observed characteristics include merging and diverging points for weaving vehicles, how drivers react to weaving sections in terms of changing their speed, cooperative and aggressive behaviour of drivers and effective length for each type of weaving sections. Seven different sites have been investigated in the UK through this study. The results of this study indicate that the effective length is equal to full weaving length for weaving length less than 300m and 200m for the weaving length higher than 300m. Moreover, specific limits for merging and diverging points have been investigated through this study. Then, the simulation model has been developed to find out other characteristics from the simulation model such as applying new effective management by changing weaving section from Type A to Type B with significant increase in the capacity of the new section.
