Abstract:
The results of investigations into reported problems with plants and animals which may be related to the operation of and accident at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Station are presented. The kinds of problems reported are listed, and potential areas of concern (such as the release of radioactive gases and drift from cooling tower plumes) are discussed. Specific case histories are examined, and probable causes attributed. While in some instances not enough data were available for a detailed evaluation to be made, none of the reported problems could be linked to TMI and no general pattern of effects could be seen.Cite
