    Abstract:
    A communication infrastructure is not always easy to manage and the level of difficulty increases with the size and number of devices present in the network. Thus, the monitoring of a network is a fundamental process in that it may prevent or detect possible problems, also offering several auxiliary tools for the work of a computer network administrator. In this context, this work presents a novel platform for the monitoring and optimization of network infrastructures, which interface is easy and intuitive to analyze even for those who do not have high skills in the area of computer networks. Furthermore, and unlike most of traditional monitoring systems, the developed platform has an additional optimization module allowing the recommendation of possible changes/configurations in order to optimize the network resources.

    Network monitoring system plays an important role in ensuring network security and maintaining network stability. Based on the thorough study of the application of the simple network management protocol (SNMP), a network intelligent monitoring model for test internet protocol (IP) network is designed, and a network monitoring system is developed. The system can realize the network equipment operation state monitoring, equipment performance monitoring and fault monitoring function in test IP networks at the same time. Meanwhile, the network monitoring system can realize remote real-time status query, fault alarm, network equipment maintenance tips and other functions. This system can discover the existing problems in the network during the process of real-time monitoring, and then provide the decision reference for the network managers to make trouble shooting and network maintenance by expert database to ensure the security and stability of the whole network.

    The most difficult area in any implementation of a successful network is the monitoring and maintenance of such a network.  The network management solutions available today use the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), which uses a centralized management approach. The drawbacks of such an implementation over-weigh the advantages . SNMP provides excellent statistics on the macro level but does not provide the level of details that is often required to completely resolve many network issues . Unlike SNMP the Multi Agent System (MAS) works in a distributed computing paradigm. This paper discusses a MAS solution to certain real world requirements of any network administrator.     In this paper, a network service monitoring system was proposed by relying on the agent for several reasons, including the possibility of providing effective control over the network, preventing penetration, reducing complications, ensuring the continuity of service on the network, permitting quality of service, reducing downtime and system cost. The proposed network management and monitoring system includes a set of tasks such as (monitoring the network service using a simple interface, the ability to add and delete new users, provide security, and the ability to distribute monitoring tasks to many agents and make adjustments independently without user intervention). The proposed monitoring system can be applied to the internet or local networks. The agent monitors and observes events on the network and collects information from all parts of the network and sends it to the server to convert it to a page that is designed to display this information in real-time to the administrator. Event monitoring information on the network is collected at the user's request or on a scheduling system created by the network manager and sent this information to the server to alert the manager when a fault occurs. By providing the ability to make some decisions without consulting the manager. This system has been designed to be general in all types of networks in the sense that it can be used in monitored and manage the network activated or passive, and it can be applied in the local networks and global networks.

    This paper is to be given an overview for the implementation of a Network Monitoring System to monitor the network resources using SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). It consists of manager, agent and managed services. The manager responsibility is to monitor the agents. The agents are software that manage all the network devices and send the details report about the managed objects to the manager. The agent should manage each network device based on the feedback received from the manager. It is an integrated part of the network infrastructure enables the local administrator to perform real-time monitoring on a big network. It helps the administrator to keep up his job more challenges. There are many problems are faced by the network administrator during the manual monitoring of the whole network such as concerned with the performance, analyses and controls of various components of the network. It is very difficult to identify the problems by the administrator. This paper describes the process of SNMP and implementation in network.

    A network administrator usually experiences network problem in the form of lack of effectiveness and efficiency of monitoring network devices. This is because the processes and operations are manual, meaning that the network administrator must jump into the field directly to monitor all the resources. Thus, a monitoring system of network devices is required so that they can be controlled centrally. This paper discusses a study to overcome the issue related to the problem of monitoring network devices using open-source tools and software. Based on the results of its implementation, it shows that a free network monitoring software such as a LibreNMS is capable to track and monitor all devices both conditions and can notify the administrator if there is error in the network. This study proved that a free open-source solution could be deployed to establish a responsive network monitoring system just like a proprietary system do.

    In an operational network monitoring remotely in the control center used a network protocol is the  Simple Network Management Protocol protocol (SNMP). The results of the monitoring network in the  herd get the data through a query value Object Identifier (OID) of the managed network element.  Network Monitoring System (NMS) describes a system that constantly monitors a computer network so  that if there is disruption can immediately make notification to a network administrator or system  administrator. NMS generally uses the SNMP protocol to request information to the network traffic on  the network entity in the communication model Management Information Base (MIB). NMS that have  been common there and has yet to be developed to meet the needs of network administrators to  monitor when it is not in place. Through this final project outcome data network monitoring integrated  with the design of a notification alert system via SMS messages when the network is in operation. It is  useful to maintain the stability of the network performance.
