Nomenklatorische Handlungenandalusiaca Strobl, 1899 (Rhamphomyia), Lectotypeanthracinella Strobl, 1898 (Rhamphomyia), Lectotypebipila Strobl, 1909 (Rhamphomyia), Lectotypecrassicauda Strobl, 1893 (Rhamphomyia), Lectotypegalactoptera Strobl, 1893 (Rhamphomyia), Lectotypeklekovaciensis Strobl, 1898 (Rhamphomyia), syn. n. of Rhamphomyia (Pararhamphomyia) modesta Wahlberg, 1844pseudotrilineata Strobl, 1893 (Rhamphomyia), Lectotypesiebecki Strobl, 1898 (Rhamphomyia), Lectotypebistriata Strobl, 1910 (Rhamphomyia flava, var.), syn. n. of Rhamphomyia pallidiventris (Fallen, 1816)squamosissima Strobl, 1910 (Rhamphomyia squamigera, var.), Lectotype; syn. n. of Rhamphomyia (Aclonempis) eupterota Loew, 1873morenae Strobl, 1899 (Rhamphomyia umbripennis, var.), Lectotype; stat. rev. now raised to specific rank

The present paper transfers eight species from the genus Drosophila to the genus Scaptomyza based on characteristics of the male genitalia. One species, Scaptomyza (Titanochaeta) canuta (Hardy) new combination, fits within the concept of the subgenus Titanochaeta. The remaining seven taxa, S. improcera (Hardy) new combination, S. magnipalpa (Hardy) new combination, S. parva (Grimshawi) new combination, S. prolixa (Hardy) new combination, S. taractica (Hardy) new combination, S. totonigra (Hardy) new combination, and S. vinnula (Hardy) new combination, are included as unplaced species of Scaptomyza An additional species, Scaptomyza (Grimshawomyia) undulata (Grimshaw) new com- bination, is transferred from the subgenus Engiscaptomyza to Grimshawomyia based on morphological and molecular characters. An expanded key to the subgenera of Scaptomyza that includes these unplaced taxa is presented. In addition, Drosophila attigua Hardy & Kaneshiro is reduced to a junior new synonym of D. sharpi Grimshaw.

The type-material of Drymeia aterrima (Wulp, 1896) is studied, and lectotype and paralectotypes are designated. The species is redescribed, and the male and female terminalia are described and illustrated for the first time.

In order to fix the identity of the European monospecific genus of heleomyzid flies Tephrochlaena Czerny, 1924 (Figs. 1, 2), the type specimens of Helomyza halterata Meigen, 1830, and Tephrochlaena oraria Collin, 1943, were re-examined. Tephrochlaena oraria is redescribed, the lectotype is designated to clarify the application of the name to the taxon and the type species of Tephrochlaena Czerny, 1924 is fixed as Tephrochlaena oraria Collin, 1943 (= Helomyza halterata sensu Czerny, 1924, nec Meigen, 1830), under ICZN Article 70.3.2. External characters and male and female terminalia are illustrated. A key to the Palaearctic genera of the subfamily Heteromyzinae is provided. By First Reviser action, Tephrochlamys rufiventris (Meigen, 1830) is given precedence over Helomyza halterata Meigen, 1830 syn. nov. under ICZN Article 24.2.1. A lectotype is also designated for Helomyza rufiventris Meigen, 1830 under ICZN Recommendation 73F.
