    Abstract:
Acne is one of the most common skin conditions in the UK. It is treatable, and mild-to-moderate acne should be managed in primary care—its management is a key area of practice for many nurse prescribers. The aim of acne treatment is to prevent scarring and reduce patient distress. It should be assessed and graded with psychosocial effects addressed. Treatment is matched to the severity of acne, and all treatment needs to be used for 2 months and then re-assessed. This article addresses acne assessment, treatment for mild-to-severe cases and practical skincare advice for all acne patients.

Many couples experience sub-clinical levels of distress, anxiety, or depressive symptoms following a failed IVF cycle. Although the majority are well-adjusted and resilient, some experience more serious emotional distress that may last for years. Giving bad news, such as IVF failure, is also distressing for the treating physician. The chapter discusses practical management options to deal with these stresses.

In accordance with clinical recommendations for acne of any severity, gentle cleansing and moisturizing is recommended using specialized dermatocosmetics that restore the barrier properties of the skin, have an anti-inflammatory effect and do not contain skin-irritating components, as well as comedogenic substances. Gentle skin care should also accompany any topical and systemic acne drug therapy. At the same time, over-the-counter (OTC) skin care products, such as non-comedogenic cleansers and moisturizers, have been successful in both the monotherapy of mild acne and as maintenance therapy. The range of Normaderm dermatocosmetics (Vichy Laboratoires) is specially designed to meet the needs of oily acne prone skin. The composition of Normaderm products includes various active substances that allow solving certain problems with acne by influencing various links in the pathogenesis of the disease. In this article, we provide clinical examples of the use of specialized Vichy Normaderm cosmetics in patients with acne in various clinical situations.

Acne is a kind of chronic inflammatory skin disease, which is common in the hair follicle and sebaceous gland of teenagers. It often recurs and affects the quality of life of patients. Acne itself can cause the damage of skin barrier function. On the other hand, common acne treatment methods, such as external drugs, systemic drugs, physical, and chemical treatment, can also lead to the damage of skin barrier function and affect the treatment effect. The application of skin care in the adjuvant treatment of acne has been widely concerned. Due to their high safety, good tolerance, and the effect of improving the damaged skin barrier, medical skin care products are a hot spot in the treatment of cosmetic skin diseases in recent years. It can not only increase the curative effect, reduce the side effects, but also increase the compliance of patients when combined with conventional acne treatment. In this article, skin care products and their application in acne treatment were reviewed.

Distress reaction and emotional self-regulation. The aim of this work was to study distress responses and self-regulation behaviors in maternal separation along the second year of life, identifying both endogenous (temperament, cognitive capacity) as well as exogenous (maternal regulation) factors which can influence these behaviors. Self-regulation strategies were effective in emotional state alteration, so a more autonomous strategies' use were associated to lower distress response, and a more rudimentary strategies' use were associated to higher distress one. On the other hand, while distress response showed a significant decrease with age, strategies' use didn't show significant changes. Finally, the variables analyzed in this work have explained successfully individual differences in distress response and self-emotional regulation.

Purpose: This study aimed to collect basic data to educate adult men about the importance of skincare and to direct product research and development by identifying the use patterns of acne-only cosmetics in adult men based on the severity of their acne.Method: A nationwide online survey of 300 adult men in their 20s to 40s with acne-prone skin was conducted. The questionnaire had 36 questions in total, and questions related to acne occurrence and recognition level were evaluated using photos representing grades 1 to 6 of the Korean acne severity system listed in the Skin Science Journal, and data analysis was performed using the statistical package SPSS/WIN 23.0.Results: The longer the acne progression period, the higher the acne level. The skincare regimen involved acne-only cosmetics although studies have shown that the effectiveness of cosmetics is inadequate. Furthermore, in the acne group with low acne level, participants did not use dedicated cosmetics or take care of their skin because the cost was prohibitive and the problem was likely to worsen. Conclusion: This study provided insights on adult men's perceptions of acne-prone skin care and use of acne-only cosmetics based on the severity of acne. Further research by experts is required to confirm these findings.

Acne is a common skin disorder which occurs mainly in teenagers, but can also continue well into adulthood. Although it is not a crippling disease, acne can cause psychological problems that may contribute to low self-esteem, and even lead to depression. Often the reassurance of continuous sympathetic support can be as important as the treatment itself.
