    Abstract : The article examines the dependence of wear resistance of metals during abrasive wear on the basic physicomechanical parameters. The dependence of wear resistance and critical velocity on the same parameters during friction of metals on an abrasive surface indicates the presence of thermoelastic processes in the surface layer, influencing wear resistance.     In this paper the systematic behaviour of wear resistance of material including low-alloy steel and composite alloy has been investigated. The transition of wear mechanism and the change in wear resistance due to wear conditions and material behaviour have also been analysed.

    Abstract The effect of various parameters in the process of three‐body abrasive wear is analysed by fatigue theory. A formula for the wear volume in three‐body wear is derived. Results indicate that this formula can basically reflect behaviour in three‐body wear experiments.
