This paper analyzes the definition of indigenous innovation in an open innovation paradigm. The dimensions of enterprises' indigenous innovation capability in an open innovation paradigm were proposed. Then, try to establish the relational model of open innovation-independent innovation capability, which can disclose the relationship of implementing open innovation and improving independent innovation capability. Finally, this paper analyzes the condition of model from the enterprise's own knowledge accumulation and environmental features.

In open innovation, every company is seeking for external resources for internal innovation activities. Meanwhile, other companies are also in desperate need of the internal resources owned by this company. Such resources can be either engineering technologies or managerial experiences. Hence, open innovation can be performed not only for engineering purpose but also for management purpose, such as business model, product or even service. In this article, we will only focus on one typical kind of open innovation named cross-industry innovation for discussion. Particular attention will be paid to the cases in which services are integrated together with product. By introducing product service system, the advantages of open innovation can be most obviously incarnated. This is only a theoretical research, which is composed based on the foundations of previous researches. This paper will firstly compliment the theory structure of open innovation. And then special attention will be paid on customer integrated cross industry (CICI) open innovation because of its high level of openness. By taking telematics service as an example, this paper will continue to discuss the industrial business model of CICI open innovation.

The essence of innovation lies in the utilisation of knowledge. To ensure innovation and sustainability, this study constructs an internal linkage framework for open innovation, knowledge management capability and dual innovation. Research results show that both open innovation and knowledge management capability have a positive influence on dual innovation. The impact of inward-oriented open innovation on exploitation innovation is more prominent than that of outward-oriented open innovation. Whereas the impact of outward-oriented open innovation on exploration innovation is more prominent than that of inward-oriented open innovation. Knowledge management capability partially mediates open innovation and dual innovation while open innovation influences dual innovation.

Open innovation is the research focus in innovation management field in recent years. Used software of Bibexcel,SPSS and Ucinet,this paper makes a quantitative research of Chinese open innovation literature by using of co- citation analysis and selecting CSSCI literature database as a data source. The results show that the research of Chinese open innovation can be divided into six academic research groups: open Innovation and innovation networks,innovation resources and knowledge management; open innovation and Total Innovation Management( TIM) and technological innovation; open innovation and innovation risk; open innovation and innovation independent; open innovation and business performance; open innovation and Intellectual Property Management. Their academic contribution rate,representative figures,research status and main points are significant differences.

The open innovation paradigm brought forward by Henry Chesbrough offers a new way of thinking and managing about innovation. Open innovation can speed innovation, reduce the uncertainty of technology and market. It could also provide access to more ideas than could be developed in - house. By leveraging the discoveries of others, companies can poduce spectacular results. Too open will bring negative impacts also because of the costs for searching and the leakage of key technology. This paper empirically verifies the relationship between the degree of openness and the innovation performance. We find that the more open in the innovation process, the higher innovation performance would be. This paper finds that the negative impact is insignificant. It is because the degree of openness is not enough for Chinese firms. The ability of using and integrating external knowledge is crucial for Chinese firms to imp rove the technological innovation capability.

The conventional closed innovation poses obstacles for the new product development of firms: customer information is always hard to collect, and the favor ability of products developed through internal innovation is questionable. As a replacement, open innovation has been introduced to help the firms conquer the bottleneck of innovation.

Open innovation has become a mainstream phenomenon in the current business landscape. However, despite the fact that innovation projects generally have different attributes (e.g., complexity and uncertainty), most studies on open innovation have only considered firm-level characteristics (e.g., firm size and firm openness) to determine how to manage open innovation successfully. Project-level studies on open innovation management are still scant-There are only a few conceptual and qualitative articles on the topic, and there is a lack of quantitative insights. Based on a survey designed to collect detailed data from 201 innovation projects undertaken by American firms, this article provides a quantitative cross-project analysis of how two, key innovation project attributes (i.e., complexity and uncertainty) are related to five factors for successful open innovation management: 1) openness level, 2) external partner choice, 3) open innovation mechanism choice, 4) collaboration process formalization, and 5) internal firm practices. This exploratory study contributes to the open innovation literature by highlighting the importance of microfoundations (i.e., innovation project attributes) in successful open innovation management. This article concludes by suggesting a number of relevant project-level future research opportunities in the field of open innovation management, and some methodological recommendations on how to address such opportunities.

The paper concerns the role of open innovation within public R&D&I programmes. The history of innovation management shows that the methods used to organize research and development work have evolved towards open innovation model. The first, original, concept of “open innovation” (Chesbrough) has been coined to explain how companies diversify technology sourcing and commercialization methods, and thus represents a perspective of industry. On the other hand, Open Innovation 2.0 approach emerged in the context of policy-making and displays features characteristic of innovation systems theory. It enables a more indepth analysis of interactions between different types of actors involved in innovation process and complex R&D ecosystems.
