Abstract:
Evidence-based management (EBMgt) is considered the best practice in decision-making for healthcare administrators. However, the adoption of EBMgt has been slow by U.S. healthcare administrators. Few studies have examined what influences healthcare administrators' behaviors toward the use of EBMgt in today's U.S. health system. The purpose of this study was to apply the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and structural equation modeling (SEM) to predict intention to use EBMgt among U.S. healthcare administrators. A cross-sectional, non-experimental study was conducted, using a two-stage cluster sample of 154 health leaders in U.S. healthcare organizations. The data were collected and entered into the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 22.0. SEM was performed using Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) 22.0. The study findings showed that healthcare administrators' intention to use EBMgt was statistically and significantly predicted by their attitudes (β = 0.55) and perceived behavioral control (β = 0.38) at the significance level of <0.001. The results also showed that education positively moderated the relationship between attitudes and intention to use EBMgt (P < 0.001). The findings suggest that the TPB is a useful theory model for predicating healthcare administrators' behavioral intention to use EBMgt.

This study aims to identify the application of Theory of Planned Behavior to predict people's intentions to invest in cryptocurrencies. Theory of Planned Behavior remains the most prominent theory in behavioral research to predict one’s intention or behavior. This research selected and reviewed articles related to the application of Theory of Planned Behavior. Data was collected from journals, papers, books, and websites related to the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and cryptocurrency. This study revealed that Theory of Planned Behavior is valid and reliable to measure cryptocurrency investment intention. Self-efficacy was used to as a proxy for perceived of behavioral control. This study can be used to develop responsive strategies.

The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) has been widely used to predict behavioral intention of different kinds. However, there is a lack of studies that have measured the factorial structure of the TPB instrument. In addition, findings that apply to one context may not be appropriate in different settings. Thus, it is important to focus on measurement and instrument development issues to contribute to theory building. Based on a sample of 210 managers/owners of small and medium sized businesses in Chile, this research uses confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the underlying factor structure and assess reliability and validity of the TPB instrument. The results provides support for a revised TPB model which explains eighty-one percent of the variance in intention by using attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control variables. Thus, the evidence supports the use of an eleven-item instrument when applying the TPB in this international context.

Latin American cities are facing crucial changes to become cycling cities. To develop effective policies in this regard, it is essential to understand the factors influencing bicycle commuting. The Theory of Planned Behavior —tpb— (Ajzen 1991) has provided a useful model to explain travel mode choice. The present study tested the tpb within the domain of bicycle mode choice with 172 participants from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Data was modeled using path analysis. The tpb model displayed an excellent fit. Results showed that intention predicted 53% of the variance in cycling to university. In addition, tpb variables (attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control) predicted 59% of the intention to use the bicycle to commute to university. The study also discusses the theoretical and practical implications for promoting bicycle use. Keywords: Theory of Planned Behavior, bicycling behavior, active transportation.

The study applies the theory of planned behavior (TPB) in the analysis to understand the acceptance of Vietnamese consumers for circular economy models. The research team conducted a survey of consumers in the Hanoi area to represent Vietnamese consumers. With 327 valid and standard questionnaires obtained, it is found that the scales are meaningful and the independent factors have a positive impact on the dependent variable. Thus, it can be seen that the consumer's intention can be affected by the factors Attitude, Subjective Norm, Perceived behavioral control. From there, businesses can adjust their activities when our country follows the trend of the circular economy

The Theory of Planned Behavior is widely used to predict human behaviors in many disciplines. According to the Theory of Planned Behavior, Attitude towards the target behavior, Subjective Norms about engaging in the behavior and Perceived Behavior Control influence intention. In addition, an individual's display of a certain behavior is determined by his or her intent to perform that behavior. This chapter describes the origin and history of the Theory of Planned Behavior, its purpose, its limitations and its applications in order to examine acceptance, adoption, use, and continuance of use of Information Systems and services.

This paper reports on an application of the Theory of Planned Behavior to understand the relationships between the determinants (latent variables) comprising the Theory of Planned Behavior and, based on these findings, to guide decision-making related to household recycling in South Africa. Data from a representative sample of respondents in large urban areas (n = 2004) was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the SEM analysis showed a good fit of the survey data to the Theory of Planned Behavior theoretical model. The Theory of Planned Behavior explains 26.4% of the variance in recycling behavior and 46.4% of the variance in intention to recycle. Only 3.3% of South Africans in large urban areas show dedicated recycling behavior, considering the recycling of five materials: paper, plastic, glass, metal, and compostable organic waste. The recycling frequency item in the recycling behavior construct is the most likely to be over-reported. South Africans lack sufficient knowledge, positive attitudes, social pressure, and perceived control that would encourage recycling behavior. Awareness drives containing moral values (injunctive norms) and information about available recycling schemes, combined with the provision of a curbside collection service for recyclables, have the greatest chance to positively influence recycling behavior amongst South Africa’s city dwellers.

This article compares two structural equation modeling fit indexes—Bentler's ( 1990; Bentler & Bonett, 1980) Confirmatory Fit Index (CFI) and Steiger and Lind's (1980; Browne & Cudeck, 1993) Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA). These two fit indexes are both conceptually linked to the noncentral chi‐square distribution, but CFI has seen much wider use in applied research, whereas RMSEA has only recently been gaining attention. The article suggests that use of CFI is problematic because of its baseline model. CFI seems to be appropriate in more exploratory contexts, whereas RMSEA is appropriate in more confirmatory contexts. On the other hand, CFI does have an established parsimony adjustment, although the adjustment included in RMSEA may be inadequate.
