    The immense and towering Tibetan Plateau acts as a heating source and, thus, deeply shapes the climate of the Eurasian continent and even the whole world. However, due to the scarcity of meteorological observation stations and very limited climatic data, little is quantitatively known about the heating effect of the plateau and its implications. This paper firstly collects climate data (2001–2007) from 109 observation stations and MODIS-based estimated monthly mean temperature data in the plateau and the neighboring Sichuan Basin, and conducts correlation and simple linear regression to reveal the altitudinal pattern of temperature. Then, according to the linear relationships of temperature and altitude for each month, it compares air temperature differences on the same elevation between the main plateau and surrounding mountains and the Sichuan Basin so as to quantify the heating effect and discuss its implication on timberline of the plateau. The results show that: 1) the heating effect of the plateau is significant. The temperature of the main plateau area was higher than that of free air on the same elevation above the neighboring areas; on the elevation of 4500 m (the main plateau), temperature is 1–6°C higher in the main Plateau than over the Sichuan Basin for different months and 5.9–10.7°C higher than in the Qilian Mountains in the northeastern corner of the plateau. 2) Even at altitudes of 5000–6000 m in the main Plateau, there are 4 months with a mean temperature above 0°C. The mean temperature of the warmest month (July) can reach 10°C at about 4600–4700 m. This may help explain why the highest timberline in the northern hemisphere is on the southeastern Tibetan Plateau.
    A simple method to calculate atmospheric heat over the Tibetan Plateau is constructed based on the monthly average conventional observation data of 198 stations from 1961 to 1995 over the Tibetan Plateau and in its vicinity and the heat source Q_1 over the Plateau.Using the calculated heat,the climatic characteristics of Q_1 in various regions and seasons and the relationship between Q_1 over the Tibetan Plateau in winter and air circulation in spring are also analyzed.The results show that the amount of Q_1 in the north-eastern part of the Plateau is less than that in the southern part,that the Q_1 in the each regions presents an upward trend from 1970s to the ealy 1980s and that there exists a negative correlation between the winter heat source over the Plateau and the geopotential height field around the Plateau in spring,which is proved by a climate simulation.

    Through a comprehensive analysis of different indexes of the Neogene climatic studies in the Tibetan Plateau,the authors established the Neogene sequence of the major climatic events and discussed the relationship between the Tibetan Plateau uplift and the major global climate events.The fact that the time of the major climatic events in the Neogene was almost synchronous with the time of the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau means that the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau was the main factor responsible for the climate change in the Tibetan Plateau.However,there exist some temporal differences and similarities between the major climatic events in the Tibetan Plateau and the major global climate events.In the early and middle Miocene,climate change in the Tibetan Plateau was frequent,and the beginning of cooling was earlier than 15Ma,which suggests that the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau made a considerable contribution to the cooling of the Earth before the late Miocene.Since the late Miocene,major climate events in the Tibetan Plateau coincided with important global climate events,which may imply that the Tibetan Plateau had reached a certain height and its impact on global climate was weakened than before.

    It is known that there are sparse weather stations on the Tibetan Plateau,and the lack of real soil temperature data affects the understanding of surface thermodynamic structure over the Plateau.Clear sky T BB data are employed,and the verified clear sky T BB data in 1998 from May to August through variational techniques by real soil temperature can capture the distribution features of mean soil temperature of the Plateau.It turns out to be a kind of important data source to the central and western Plateau,and plays an important role in the Plateau underlying thermodynamic structure study.

    Using of the method of interview survey,mathematical statistics,logic analysis,the condition of second plateau training about the middle-long-distance women athletes in Gansu province have been investigated and studied.The results show that the second plateau people,unique second plateau geographical environment and the training mode of the second plateau environment in Gansu province are main factors on maintaining high level performance for the middle-long-distance womon athletes in Gansu province.

    By means of literature review,questionnaire survey and interview,this paper investigates and analyzes the phenomenon of Physical Education teacher's career plateau.The result shows that: 1) the Physical Education teachers' career plateau is in moderate level.The PE teachers get lowest secores in content plateau while highest in hierarchical plateau;2) The total plateau and factors change with the increase of their teaching time and their age,the level of hierarchical plateau is significant increase;There is no significant gender difference in total plateau,hierarchical plateau and centralized plateau,but the gender difference in content plateau(P0.01);There are extremely evident difference in total plateau,centralized plateau and hierarchical plateau among the Physical Education teachers with different educational background(P0.01).The conclusion is Physical Education teachers' career plateau is at moderate level,there are evident differences in the various factors between different gender,age,educational background,the teaching time and so on.
