    Abstract:
This report analyzes the characteristics of an absorption refrigerator driven by steam and hot water and connected with a waste heat recovery system of a phosphoric-acid fuel-cell power-generation plant. First, a simulation of a waste heat recovery system is constructed and the characteristics of this system are confirmed. Next, throughout the experimental research and the simulation analysis, the influences of the cooling water temperature on the heat recovery and cooling capacity of the absorption refrigerator are clarified. And the effectiveness of a year-round cooling system using the absorption refrigerator driven by waste heat from the fuel cell is made clear.

The absorption refrigerator driven by waste heat is a very useful refrigerator from the view point of the reduction in CO_2 emissions or the application to the co-generation system. However, when the absorption refrigerator is driven only by waste heat, there is a possibility that it can not satisfy the requirement of cooling capacity due to the shortage of the waste heat. For such as case, authors have suggested the absorption refrigerator driven by a waste heat and gas which backs up the shortage of the waste heat. But the shortage of waste heat can be backed up with vapor compressing refrigerator driven by electric power in consideration of the primary energy efficiency. Threfore, in the latest research, we have suggested WMVR (Waste heat and Mechanical Vapor Recompressing driven type) hybrid absorption refrigerator. The cycle of this refrigerator is a combined one of waste heat cycle which is a single effict cycle and MVR cycle driven by the electric power. This research investigate the high efficient WMVR hybrid absorption refrigerator whose waste heat cycle is double effect one. As a resut, the efficiency of the waste heat cycle improves greatly.

Lithium-bromide absorption refrigerator is an energy-saving refrigerator, which can make use of low quality heat energy. For the application of single-effect lithium-bromide absorption refrigerator in air-conditioning system of ships, this paper developed two simulation programs: one for design computation and the other for simulation of the effect under various operating conditions. The effects of design parameters on liquid flux and heat transfer area and influence of ambient parameters on refrigeration capacity and thermal coefficient were mainly researched. The results agree well with theoretical analyses and can provide a reference for design and opertion of the refrigerators.

The ability of a second-order refrigerator analysis model to predict the performance of a hydrogen sorption refrigerator is evaluated. The sorption refrigerator utilizes a Joule-Thomson expander combined with a H2/LaNi5 absorption compressor in order to minimize the number of wear susceptible mechanical parts; the operation of the sorption refrigerator is described. The refrigerant pressures, temperatures, enthalpies, and heat flow and entropy productions in the system are calculated. The model predictions for average cold tip temperatures and gas temperatures prior to and after expansion are compared to test data. It is determined that the model calculated the refrigerator cold end temperature to within 2.4 percent and the net refrigeration to within 11 percent, and that variations in the refrigerator mass flow rate and pressure affect the performance of the refrigerator. 14 references.

Effective use of exhaust heat from a combined heat and power (CHP) in summer is an issue. This study tries to develop absorption refrigerator using exhaust heat from home CHP. We selected active carbon-ethanol pair for this refrigerator, and cooling capacity analysis showed that adsorption refrigerator using this pair works with high efficiency. To evaluate the effectiveness of introducing absorption refrigerator, the cost and CO2 emission analysis in the case with absorption refrigerator and CHP was conducted. This indicated that absorption refrigerator with CHP has a potential of CO2 emission reduction with low cost. In addition, we developed an experimental system of trial model.

For energy saving and consumption reduction, the waste heat recovery of flue gas from sinter straight cooler is very important to steel enterprises. The close flow system of waste heat recovery of flue gas cools the sinter using the exhaust from the boiler of waste heat recovery, which can elevate the temperature of recovery flue gas to make the best use of waste heat, and to reduce environment pollution enormously. For elevating the temperature and the ratio of waste heat recovery, the principles of the waste heat recovery cycle system of flue gas were discussed.Numerical model of energy equation of the cycle sysytem was built, the flue gas flow of cycle and the optimal selection of flue gas were also carried out.The design program of the cycle system of flue gas were also carried out.The theory and technology of the recovery waste heat are provided to the great energy consumption enterprises.

The paper presents the highlights of the design of an existing solid absorption solar refrigerator, using CaCl 2 stabilised with CaSO 4 as the absorbent. The performances are also discussed. The sources of poor performance were identified as high thermal and pressure inertia of the system, high heat loss coefficient, and low absorbent thermal conductivity. Based on these, measures taken in the design of a new model refrigerator, to improve the refrigerator performance are then presented.
