When someone makes music, the content of their music-making is the song they sing, or the piece they play. The idea of musical content is sometimes analyzed in terms of the notion of a type whose tokens occur when that content is played or sung. Such an analysis can be associated with different assumptions about the ontology of types. I consider four such assumptions; and I argue they give rise to four different conceptions of musical content. Finally, I consider the question what kind of unity is possessed by musical content on these four different conceptions.

In China’s household appliances price battle,there appears the phenomenon of the position-exchange of the main roles,the essence of which is the promotion of the position of commerce.For China,a country in the process of deepening reform and developing market economy,it is significant that we rethink the position and function of commerce in national economy.This paper discusses the reason of the promotion of the position of commerce,points out how commerce functions in the market in a new way and proposes some suggestions for commercial enterprises,industrial enterprises and government on the attitude they should adopt towards the change of the position of commerce.

Whether perceptual experience has content or not is an important issue in research on mentalist philosophy and epistemology.Most contemporary philosophers assert that perceptual experience is a form of representation and therefore has content.This view is called the Content and has been challenged by philosophers such as Charles Travis and Bill Brewer who argue that Content View is not compatible with Na?ve Realism which favors that perceptual experience is relation between subjects and mind-independent objects and properties.This paper analyzes rationale of Content View proposed by Travis and Brewer and concludes that Content View and Relational View are not contradictory.It is suggested that Content View should incorporate some views of Relational View if former aims to be supported in epistemological terms.This paper also argues that perceptual experience has some Russellian propositional content in mode of presentation.

The purpose of this paper is to propose a method of the calculations for position fix. The authors examine whether it is possible to utilize a method of optimization for calculating ship's position, however utilizing a method of least-squares for calculating ship's position has been studied. In this method position circles or position hyperbolas are utilized for positionfix and optimum ship's position is gained by solving basic equations for position fix. The features of this method are as follows; (1) No straight lines are used in place of position lines. (2) No directions of geographical positions or radio stations are necessary. Expected results are gained as the method is applied to position fix in celestial navigation.

The debate about mental content is not well framed as internalists versus externalists, because there is both internal and external mental content. There is also a question about how best to draw the line between them, and this paper argues that this line is not usually drawn in the right place. It proposes a new alignment: the expression ‘internal content’ is to be taken to denote actually occurring, concrete, immediately phenomenologically given content. Absolutely everything else that can be said to be the content of experience is to be classified as external content. It turns out, under this new alignment, that internal content can be external content; this is the case when I think about your pain, or indeed my own pain. But this is as it should be.

Narrow mental content, if there is such a thing, is content that is entirely determined by the goings-on inside the head of the thinker. A central topic in the philosophy of mind since the mid-1970s has been whether there is a kind of mental content that is narrow in this sense. It is widely conceded, thanks to famous thought experiments by Hilary Putnam and Tyler Burge, that there is a kind of mental content that is not narrow. But it is often maintained that there is also a kind of mental content that is narrow, and that such content can play various key explanatory roles relating, inter alia , to epistemology and the explanation of action. This book argues that this is a forlorn hope. It carefully distinguishes a variety of conceptions of narrow content and a variety of explanatory roles that might be assigned to narrow content. It then argues that, once we pay sufficient attention to the details, there is no promising theory of narrow content in the offing.
