Abstract:
We evaluated the safety and clinical usefulness of the same day protocol of exercise 99mTc-MIBI SPECT in 107 patients with heart diseases. No adverse event was observed except for one case of transient hypotension caused by the exercise. More than 95% of stress images and all of the rest images were judged as "Excellent" or "Good" in image quality. Overall sensitivity was 84.3% in detecting coronary artery disease, and no statistical difference was observed between the results obtained with Re-Ex and Ex-Re protocols. The examination was "Quite Effective" or "Effective" in diagnostic efficacy in 96.2% of the cases. We concluded that the same day protocol is a safe and useful method for diagnosing myocardial ischemia, which provides high image quality and valuable information.Cite

Objective:To assess the plasma BNP levels of coronary sinus versus peripheral vein in stable coronary artery disease(CAD) and investigate the association between the BNP level and stenosis of coronary artery.Methods:All recruited patients underwent echocardiographic examination,and selective coronary angiography was performed.Plasma levels of BNP were measured in 43 patients with stable CAD,22 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS),and 22 cases without coronary artery disease(control group).The data of subjects were collected and analysed.Results:The data showed:(1)BNP levels of coronary artery sinus were no significantly different from that of perpheral vein for all subjects(P0.05);(2)ACSs group had significantly higher BNP values compared with stable CAD and control group(P0.01);(3)Plasma BNP level of coronary artery sinus in patients with stable CAD was higher than that of control group(P0.05);(4)The higher plasma BNP level was associated with the more severity of coronary artery stenosis(P0.05).Conclusion:Plasma BNP level is associated with a more severity of coronary artery disease.

This study was performed to determine the relation between inducible sustained ventricular tachycardia (ISVT) by programmed electrical stimulation and angiographic, clinical and echographic data in patients with coronary artery disease. The aim of this study was to explore if these inducible arrhythmias are associated with any specific "arrhythmogenic" pattern of coronary artery disease. 129 consecutive patients with coronary artery disease and ISVT were evaluated by left ventriculography and coronary arteriography by standard techniques. The mean age of the patients was 46 years with a range of 21 to 72 years, 74% of them were males. A significant stenosis of the main left coronary artery (>50%) appeared to be more frequent in arrhythmia patients (31%). Also proximal left anterior descending artery stenosis was more frequent in in the arrhythmia patients (48%). "Main left equivalent" lesions, defined as a significant stenosis of the proximal left anterior descending artery and the proximal left circumflex artery was significantly more frequent among the arrhythmia patients (51%). Using the quantitive wall motion analysis, a strong relationship was found between the number of abnormally contracting segments and the presence of inducible sustained ventricular tachycardia. The results of the present study suggest that ISVT in patients with coronary artery disease are more frequently associated with lesions of the main left coronary artery or the proximal left anterior descending artery.
