Abstract Florida Atlantic University, Indian River Community College, and the St. Lucie County Library developed a joint-use library facility serving the information needs of three distinct populations. This article reviews planning, staffing, managing, and collection development issues encountered by the partners of the joint-use library. The complex nature of the operation is described through interviews with library staff and library administrators. Agreements between the cooperating libraries are included.

The ACM/IEEE Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL) is a major international forum focusing on digital libraries and associated technical, practical, and social issues. JCDL 2020 was hosted jointly by School of Information Management at Wuhan University and School of Public Administration at Northwest University on August 1 - 5, 2020 in Wuhan, Hubei, China. The General Chairs were Professors Dan Wu, Ruhua Huang and Gary Marchionini, and the Program Chairs were Professors Daqing He, Preben Hansen, and Sally Jo Cunningham. This newsletter article briefly describes the conference organization, the community participation, and most importantly the adaption to virtual conference under COVID-19 pandemic.

The weathering degree of joint blocks and its infilling affects the deformational behaviour of filled joint. To appreciate its behaviour and level of criticality to an engineering construction, filled joint should be described and classified according to its weathering degree. This paper proposes the procedures for classifYing filled joint in the field. Based on weathering classification of weathered rock, the suggested method is suitable for filled joint resulting from differential weathering of joints in granite.

This paper describes a process of cutting blocks from statistically generated finite joint polygons in 3D space. If the ratio of joint length divided by joint spacing is less than 10,the rock mass is likely connected. If this joint length ratio is greater than 10,the rock is likely to be blocky. An algorithm is also presented for finding all removable blocks along any given moving direction. The rock mass boundary can be any excavated and natural free surfaces. The algorithm works for both joint sets and for any joint system where each joint has its own direction. This is an application of polygon cutting code DC of 3D DDA.
