This paper introduces the basic concept of the fieldbus and the system structure of the fieldbus control system is provided with FFas an example. Then four typical fieldbus technologies and the main characteristics of the fieldbus are analyzed. Finally , it is pointed out thatthe fieldbus is the development direction of the process control technology.

The general network architecture of Foundation Fieldbus control systems is put forward through the cookery control system of a gasworks.The system integration and extension methods based on Foundation Fieldbus and OPC (OLE for Process Control ) interface technology are specified. The method of integrating FF control systems with other conventional control system are summarized. And a new way of using fieldbus technology to rebuild old enterprises is indicated.

On the basis of engineering application of filedbus control system(FCS) in supercritical thermal power plant,the design points of applying the FCS165 fieldbus control system to auxiliary control for large-scale coal fired power plant were put forward.The FCS165 fieldbus control system can avoid the non-intelligent connection between intelligent field instrument and intelligent control apparatus,and obtain more abundant information of equipment operation from the field intelligent device.
