    Abstract:
Purpose:To probe into the relation between geographical environment and plateau training, which can provide theoretical basis for training on plateau. Methods:methods of literature, statistical analysis and analogy.Major results and conclusions:(1)Plateau environment could encourage a series of changes in many physiological indexes of human body.People living in plateau from generation to generation have the better endurance than those residing in plain, and could suit the higher elevation height;(2)There are nearly90training base located in plateau throughout the world, which are distributed over27nations or districts from four Continents, and whose average latitude is(33.78±11.4)°and with an average elevation of(2125.38±535.23)m.When training on plateau, man prefer those regions with higher elevation but lower latitudes;(3)So,in order to select suitable altitude when choosing and carring on the training on plateau, the following factors such as individual difference, the training purpose should be given a full consideration.

This paper estimates the information gain and the information gain ratio, which are usually used in machine-learning processes, to assess which data layer – absolute elevation or elevation difference – better reflects the topoclimatic characteristics (especially the thermal belt). Both attributes are compared based on their information value in explaining the locations of vineyards, which depend largely on the thermal belt. The analysis is performed on 9,000 cells covering various winegrowing districts. In general, elevation difference proves to be a better attribute, but certain differences can be observed between individual areas, especially between the continental and submediterranean parts of Slovenia.
