Abstract:
To study the chemical constituents from the upground part of Erigeron breviscapus. The compounds were separated and purified by column chromatography with silica gel, and identified by IR, MS, NMR and 2D-NMR.Two new compounds were isolated and identified as 5,4'-dihydroxy flavonod-7-O-beta-D-pyranglycuronate buthyl ester(VI) and 3,5-dimethoxy benzene carbonic acid-4-O-beta-D-pyranglucose(VII).Compounds VI and VII were new compounds.Cite

The chemical constituents of the extract of Gorgonian Dichotella fragilis(Ridleg)were isolated and prepared by silica gel column chromatography,Sephdex LH-20 gel column chromatography and semi-PHPLC.The structures of the compounds were determined by spectroscopic methods including MS and NMR.Five compounds were purified and identified, including three 19-steroidal glycosides including junceelloside B(1),4'-O-Acetyl-3-O-[β-D-arabino-pyranosyl-oxy]-cholest-5-ene-3β,19-diol(2)and junceelloside C(3),two briarane type diterpenoids including junceol E(4)and gemmacolide A(5).All the compounds were obtained from D.fragilis for the first time. The chemotaxonomy study showed that the 19-steroidal glycosides could be used as chemotaxonomic markers for the two genera of Dichotellaand Junceella, and these two genera were related very closely taxonomically.

To study the chemical constituents of Periploca forrestii. The constituents were separate using such various column chromatographic techniques as silica gel, RP-18 silica gel, MCI and Sephadex LH-20. Their structures were identified by such methods as spectral analysis.Ten compounds were isolated and identified as periforgenin A-3-O-beta-digitoxopyranoside (1), beta-sitosterol (2), periforoside I (3), ursolic acid (4), periplogenin (5), periplocin (6), glycoside E (7), periplocoside M (8) , daucosterol (9), 2alpha, 3alpha, 23-trihydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (10).Compound 1 was a new cardiac glycoside and compound 8 was reported for the first time from this plant.

Eight compounds were isolated from the 90% ethanol extracts of the stems of Bousigonia mekongensis by silica column chromatography,ODS and Sephadex LH- 20 column chromatography. The structures of these compounds,3,4- dihydroxybenzaldehyde( 1),3,4- dihydro- xybenzoic acid( 2),2,2- dimethyl- 7- hydroxychroman( 3),oleanolic acid( 4),ursolic acid( 5),β- sitosterol( 6),5,7,3',4'- tetrahydroxy- flavonol- 3- O- β- D- glycoside( 7),5,7,3',4'- tetrahydroxy- flavonol- 3- O- α- L- rhamnopyranoside( 8),were determined by the spectroscopic methods, including MS,1H NMR and13 C NMR spectra. All of these compounds were obtained from the Bousigonia mekongensis for the first time. Among them, compound 3 was isolated from the plants for the first time.

Abstract Phenolic compounds, such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, flavonoid glycosides, and resveratrol, were chromatographed on thin‐layers of silica in various eluent systems. Systems with the highest selectivity were chosen. Also, reversed‐phase HPLC systems were optimized for the separation of investigated compounds and most the selective system was applied for the separation of two phenolic extracts – Polygonum avicularis and Polygonum hydropiper. Partly separated fractions were evaporated and dissolved in methanol. Fractions with partly separated phenolic compounds were spotted onto the silica layer and developed in an appropriate eluent system. After drying, the plate was derivatised with the Naturstoff reagent and videoscanned. Several phenolic compounds were identified, according to their retention coefficients in both systems.
