    Abstract:
Aim To promote the experience of peri-operation complication and treatment in permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation. Methods Retrospective analysis of 99 patients with permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation during January 2004 to October 2008,analysis the causes, the treatment and the results of peri-operational complication. Results All operations are successful, and the ratio of peri-operational complication was 11.11%.5(5.05%)patients with bag haematoma, including 1 patient was transferred,2 patients' haematoma were absorbed after compression wrap, and the other 2 patients' haematoma were absorbed by disinfection and wrap. The electrode dislocation induced pacemaker dysfunction occurred in 2 patients and reversed by reposition. The actuator anchor screw becomes less crowded in 2 patients and corrected by re-operation.Conclusions The main Influence to curative effect of cardiac pacemaker is complication after implantation.Adequate preparation to prevention, skillful technique in operation and follow-up visit positively is necessary to decreasing the complication, and increasing treatment benefit.

Objective To evaluate emergency nursing methods to permanent pacemaker patients with severe complication and acute hemodynamic changes during implantation. Methods The emergency nursing methods were analyzed retrospectively in 9 of 2 027 patients over 6 years, who had serious complication occurred during the pacemaker implantation Results There were 4 patients with pneumothorax, 2 with pericardial tamponed, 1 with ventricular fibrillation and 2 with acute left ventricular failure in 9 patients (0.4%). Observed the changes of symptoms and signs carefully, found the severe complications at the first time and performed the specific nursing based on different kinds of conditions and improved the prognosis of these patients. Conclusions The serious complications during the implantation of permanent pacemaker were life-threatening, and the specific nursing scheme to different types of complications could increase the successful rate of emergency service. Objective To investigate the permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation postoperative complications, clinical manifestation, treatment, nursing and health guidance. Methods 2009 to April-2011 December by implantation of a permanent pacemaker in clinical nursing care of 40 cases were retrospectively analyzed, put forward the nursing measures. Results Postoperative complications occurred in 7 patients, the incidence was 17.5%,of which 2 cases of pacemaker pocket blood(28.6%),pacemaker sensing disorder in 1 cases(14.3%),pacemaker syndrome in 1 cases(14.3%),electrode dislocation in 2 cases(28.6%),lung infection and venous thrombosis of lower extremities in 1 cases(14.3%).All complications after active treatment, patients returned to normal. Conclusion Importance of permanent cardiac pacemaker implantation in a patient with postoperative observation and nursing, familiar with the relevant theoretical knowledge, early detection and timely treatment,to prevent and reduce the incidence of complications is important.

Objective: To explore the cause of postoperative complications after implantation of permanent heart pacemaker and their handling strategies. Methods: The data of 95 patients received implantation of permanent heart pacemaker in our hospital from June 2004 to December 2009 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Pacemaker complications were found in 12 cases(12.6%),including three cases of hematoma of pacemaker sac, three cases of severe arrhythmia during operation, two cases of bad sensation of pacemaker, five cases of pacing syndrome and two cases of sac infection. Conclusion: Morbidity rate of pacemaker complications and their severe consequence could be lowered and avoided by careful preparation before operation, norm procedure during operation, reconstruction of regular follow-up,education and in-time diagnosis as well as correct manage for pacemaker complications after operation.

Objective To explore the causes of common complications after pacemaker implantation and its preventive and treatment measures. Methods 561 cases who had undergone implantation of permanent pacemakers were followed up,and the therapeutic effect and complications of intra-operation and post-operation were analyzed. Results All cases succeeded in implantation. The pre-operative symptom disappeared soon or relieved in different degrees. Conclusion The incidence of complications of pacemaker implantation could be significantly lowered by deeper understanding of the common complications, emphasizing the prevention of pre-operation,standardizing operation procedures, strengthening the follow-up of post-operation,and diagnosing and treating the complications earlier.

Objective To analyse reasons of 4 cases with complication among 14 cases implanted pacemaker and find the curring method. Methods The generator and leads were removed, infective tissue was debrided and wet dressing with eufol solution until granuational tissue grew up.One week later new pacing system was replaced at opposite chest side. Results The most common complication is infection.3 cases of infection were curred after the therapy, and infection did not occured again within following 6 months. Conclusion The causes that disinfection is not strict must be minimized. If erosion occurs, the generator and leads must be removed, debride the erosion and migrate new pacing system between greater and smaller pectoral muscle at opposite chest side. The movement of the patients would be restricted for 3 months.

Objective To analyze the postoperative complications following permanent pacemaker implantation and their causes, and summarize the nursing strategies. Methods The clinical and nursing data of 54 patients receiving permanent pacemaker implantation between January 2005 and February 2007 were reviewed and the postoperative complications were analyzed. Results Postoperative complications occurred in 11/54(20.4%) of the patients, including 5(45.4%) with electrode dislocation,3(27.3%) with pacer bag hematoma,2(18.2%) with pacemaker sensor dysfunction and 1(9.1%) with pacemaker syndrome. All postoperative complications were successfully managed by active treatment and nursing. Conclusion Electrode dislocation and pacer bag hematoma are common postoperative complications of permanent pacemaker implantation.Familiarity with the relevant theoretical knowledge of permanent pacemaker implantation and careful observation and nursing after operation are important for preventing or reducing the occurrence of the postoperative complications.

Abstract Myocardial perforation is a rare complication of permanent pacemaker implantation. While most of the perforations occur at the time of implantation or within the first 24 h, delayed myocardial perforations are very rare. The clinical course is extremely variable with some patients presenting completely asymptomatic, while others can develop cardiac tamponade and haemodynamic instability. We report an unusual case of a subacute ventricular perforation caused by a passive‐fixation lead two weeks after implantation and we successfully managed to extract the lead under local anaesthesia, without the patient undergoing surgery, as recommended in the previously published reports.

Objective:To analyze the clinical therapeutic effect and complications of the operation. Methods:following the 40cases who have planted the permanent pacemakers, analyze the therapeutic effect and complications during and after the plant operation. Results:All cases were succeeded in implanting, and the symptom immediately disappeared or reduced in different degrees.Following 6 months to 2 years,The complication was 4 patients. One case of blood effusion and hematome formation in pocket, one case of 1ead dislocation, two cases of pacemaker syndrome, one case of pacemaker mediated tachycardia,no infection of pacemaker pocket occurred. Conclusion:The effect of the permanent pacemaker is very valuable, reduce the complication by following the cases.Improving the capability of discerning complication, standardizing operation, stricting observationpostoperation, regulating following and education of pacemaker, can decrease the complication rate. The serious result will be avoided by early fingding and timely treatment.

Objective To study the clinical effect and complications after artificial permanent pacemaker implantation. Methods The pacing leads were implanted by the path of the subclavian vein in 54 cases with permanent pacemaker. The successful rate and complications were observed. Results The operations in all cases were successful, the preoperative symptoms disappeared in short order, and the basic cardiac symptoms in 35 cases were relieved to some extent. The follow-up showed no case died and the 6 cases(11.1%) with postoperative complications including 2 cases of subcutaneous pocked bleed,1 case of pacemaker syndrome,1 cases of arhythmia and 2 cases of electrode aversion. Conclusion The artificial permanent pacemaker implantation was a safe, reliable and effective treatment method. The postoperative follow-up and monitoring with programmer can find and preventive the complications early.
