A comprehensive compilation is provided of the medicinal plants of the Southeast Asian country of Myanmar (formerly Burma). This contribution, containing 123 families, 367 genera, and 472 species, was compiled from earlier treatments, monographs, books, and pamphlets, with some medicinal uses and preparations translated from Burmese to English. The entry for each species includes the Latin binomial, author(s), common Myanmar and English names, range, medicinal uses and preparations, and additional notes. Of the 472 species, 63 or 13% of them have been assessed for conservation status and are listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (IUCN 2017). Two species are listed as Extinct in the Wild, four as Threatened (two Endangered, two Vulnerable), two as Near Threatened, 48 Least Concerned, and seven Data Deficient. Botanic gardens worldwide hold 444 species (94%) within their living collections, while 28 species (6%) are not found any botanic garden. Preserving the traditional knowledge of Myanmar healers contributes to Target 13 of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation.

Genus Pseudotsuga L. is one of the important taxa exhibited the disjunct distributionof Eastern Asia-Eastern North America. China has 5 endemic species and all of them have been listed as the second-grade protect plants of the country. This paper based on the yield investigation of Pseudotsuga sinensis Dode and Pseudotsuga forrestii Craib in Yunnan of China, probes into their current status of the populations and natural regeneration, the local uses and the possible endangered factors in the province. The strategies on conservation and utilization of the species have also been proposed.

124 species (including varieties) in 55 genera of compositae were found in the Houhe National Nature Reserve. The result of investigation and analysis on the species showed that the majority of the flora belong to temperate component. There were 53 genera and 121 species of medicine plants, accunting for 96.4% and 97.6% respectively of the total compositae plants. Most species in composita were medicine resources plants and should be exploited appropriately.

According to the Name List of National Protected Wild Plant (Part I) passed by Chinese State Department and based on our field surveys and studies for many years, the distribution and present status of 19 species and 2 varieties of National Protected Wild Plants in Shaanxi Province were reported in the present paper. Among these plants, 4 species and 2 varieties are of first protective grade and 15 species are of second protective grade. The protective countermeasure of National Protected Wild Plants in Shaanxi Province was also put forward.
