Abstract:
The effects of three dispersants(PVP,Triammonium citrate,β-Alanine) on the stability of ITO suspension prepared by ball milling dispersion were studied.The influences of dispersing time and dispersant content on stability of ITO suspension were investigated.And the roles of the different dispersant and their dispersing mechanism on stability of ITO suspension were also investigated.The results show that the stability and dispersion mechanisms of the three dispersants are electrostatic and steric hindrance,and make ITO suspension keep RSH10% within 15 days under the conditions that the dispersant/ITO powder is 5%(mass ratio) and optimal ball milling dispersion time is 48 h.The sequence of effects of these three dispersants on the stability of ITO suspension is PVPβ-alaninetriammonium citrate,which is in agreement with the sequence of their acidity and alkalinity in the suspension.Among these three dispersants,PVP is the best one for the stability of ITO suspension.Keywords:

The stability,dispersity and rheologic behavior of alumina suspension were studied by changing the ball milling time and dispersant concentration. The results indicate that the ball milling time and dispersant concentration affect evidently the stability and dispersity of the suspension. The optimal ball milling time was 20 hours and the isoelectric point of pure alumina powder occurred at about pH 8.1. The addition of the dispersant made the isoelectric point move toward the direction of lower pH value and improved the stability of the suspension under alkaline conditions.

Aiming at the dispersion of nano-zirconia regarded as the guide of inorganic membranes preparation,the dispersion of nano-zirconia powders in water was studied by adding different dispersants at different concentrations.In addition,the relationship between pH value and the dispersion was investigated.The results of experiments show that:(1) the dispersion of the suspension is drastically subject to the kinds of dispersants,the concentration of(dispersants) and the pH value of suspension;(2) different dispersants have different optimizing concentrations in their applicable range,which have the best disperse results.These suspensions were studied by means of(determined) particle size and zeta potential measurements.The results of dispersants were obtained through varying the pH value.Finally,the optimizing range of pH values was studied.

Effect of several dispersants (PEG,PMAA,MN)on aqueous suspension of submicron TiO 2 powder is focused in the study.The experimental results show that the TiO 2 aqueous suspension with MN dispersant has many advantages such as low viscosity,little dosage,no agglomeration,width pH et al.So the system with MN dispersant excels that with PEG or PMAA.

The dispersion behaviors of nano-ATO in aqueous system were studied in this paper firstly.Influences of the value of pH,type and content of dispersants,different dispersant time and processing parameters on the dispersion stability were discussed.The results indicated that the isoelectric point was in the place that pH=2,the dispersion stability was enhanced remarkably in neutral system.The optimum dispersant was A-187,the content in dispersion system 13%,and dispersed by 30 minutes.The slurry was stable by the optimum dispersant and the dispersing process.

Dispersion action of TiO_2 in water medium was studied.The dispersion and stabilization of TiO_2 powders in suspension under different pH values,dispersant types and dispersing methods were investigated.By means of particle size distribution measurements the effect of dispersant on the aggregation and dispersion stabilization of TiO_2 powders in suspension was investigated.The effects of various factors on the dispersion stabilization of TiO_2 suspension were explained using three kinds of stabilization mechanism.

Alumina microparticles were synthesized by sol-gel method with aluminum isopropoxide as raw material, octanol and acetonitrile as solvent. The influence of pH value and three kinds of dispersants on the alumina suspension stability were discussed in water system. We find that The optimal pH value range of application for alumina suspension is 4-5 or 10-11, which has the biggest absolute value of Zeta potential, and alumina suspension has a good dispersion when Span-20 used as dispersant.

This paper uses sodium hexametaphosphate(SHP),polyethyleneglycol(PEG400),cetyltrimethylammonium chloride(CTAC) and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS)as surfactants to make a study of dispersion of α-Al2O3 nano-powders in water suspension.The influence of supersonic time,pH value and surfactant concentration on the stability of α-Al2O3 suspension is systematically studied.The results show that mass fraction of surfactant has the greatest influence on the stability of the suspension.The dispersion stability of α-Al2O3 water suspension is the first to be increased to a maximum and the tast to be decreased with the increase of ultrasonic time.SDBS is the best one among the four kinds of surfactants in the experiments,the optimal dispersing condition is 2.0% in mass percent of SDBS and pH value is 9,ultrasonic time is 20min.
