    Abstract:
The relationship between energy consumption and economic growth is one of the research keys in today's society. Domestic energy is a necessity of people's daily life and is also the basic factor of economy development. Based on the date of income and energy consumption from 1985 to 2007 of Gansu, the degree of the gray correlation of the domestic energy consumption per capita with income、coal consumption per capita、electricity consumption per capita、oil consumption per capita with and biomass energy per capita with were computed. The results showed that the positive relationships were obvious. Comparatively speaking, the electricity consumption per capita has higher associated degree with the domestic energy consumption per capita. Some measures and suggestions were put forward to solve the problem of domestic energy consumption in Gansu.

Urbanization and industrialization are the most prominent features of economic development. The energy use changes brought by industrialization are well known, but urbanization also imposes major, if subtle, changes in energy use. Urbanization shifts production activities formerly undertaken in the home with little or no energy to outside producers who do use energy. One of the largest changes is the daily travel of urban residents, primarily but not exclusively, to work Personal transportation in rural areas generally entails little or no fuel use, while urban transportation does, particularly as incomes increase. Higher density living also induces substitutions of modem for traditional energy forms. Finally, food must be transported longer distances to urban consumers than to rural, agricultural consumers.

This study based on the data in Henan from 1985 to 2008,focuses on the dynamic balanced relationship between the rural life expenses and the economic growth using the method of correlated analysis. The research result shows that there exists a dynamic balanced relationship between the rural life expenses and the per capita GDP.The rural per capita food consumption expenses exerts a greater pull on the economic growth than the culture, education, recreation and health care.In the stagnant period of three and four year, the per capita GDP growth and the rural household life cost form the two-way directional cause-effect relationship;in the stagnant period of one year, the per capita GDP growth forges a uni-directional cause-effect relationship with the expenses of culture, education, and recreation as well as with the health care cost.

Does China have to take an environment-friendly consumption pattern when China is a developing country whose per capita income ranks more than 100th in the world? It cannot get a definite answer for lacking of the researches on environmental pressure of household consumption. Among the different kinds of researches on environmental stress, ecological footprint analysis can directly measure the impact of household consumption on environment. This paper calculated per capita household ecological footprint and ecological deficit or ecological surplus in China, and concluded that: per capita ecological footprint is in an increasing trend and per capita ecological carrying capacity changes steady; ecology per capita is in a deficit which extend to increase at the beginning of year 2002, and the deficit in the year 2007 is most serious.

The rapid development of urbanization in China is coupled with the increase in per capital electricity consumption. This study focuses on the impacts of residents' income change and consumption tendency change on per capital electricity consumption in the process of urbanization in China. In this paper, LMDI method is used to analyze each factor's impact on per capital electricity consumption in the process of urbanization in China. The results show that income effect is the major determinant of per capital electricity consumption which is followed by population structure effect and electricity consumption effect; income effect in the urban regions is more than that in the rural regions; electricity consumption tendency effect in the rural regions is more than that in the urban regions.

Since the reform and opening up,the economy and society of Jilin Province has made great development, economic events well-running.People's living conditions have significantly improved and the level of consumption has been growing steadily. But we also see the spending power of urban residents in Jilin Province has a alarge gap with other province.Consumption is not only the ultimate goal of social production, but also the strong driving force to maintain and promote economic growth. Therefore the critical links and its changing trend which used to analysis and predict the consumption have a great significance to expand the consumption and make economic independent growth.

Based on an input-output model, the authors calculated the intensity of energy use for different income groups and 7 provinces in China, and then estimated direct and indirect energy use induced by urban household consumption based on statistics of household living expenditure during the period 1995 to 2004.Results showed that energy use per capita induced by household consumption increased from 656 kgce to 1040 kgce. The ratio of consumption-induced energy use to total energy use increased from 19%to 30%in the past decade. It was found that the ratio of indirect energy use to total consumption-induced energy use increased from 69%to79%during the same period.A significant difference in energy use induced by household consumption across different income groups and different regions could be observed.Energy use per capita for higher income groups and developed regions showed more rapid growth than did lower income groups and developing regions.Changes in lifestyle have driven significant increases in energy use.In particular, increases in private transport expenditure and house building expenditures were key driving factors of energy use growth. In addition, there existed marked differences in the amount of energy use induced by changing lifestyle across different income groups and provinces.Technology innovation has greatly reduced the energy use amount induced by consumption, and such effect was more evident over high income groups/areas.It could be expected that lower income households and developing regions would increase consumption to improve their livings with income growth in the future.Although it may result in much more energy use,a reasonable level of energy use was needed to meet people's need and to improve living standard. It was also found that energy use per capita induced by household consumption in developed areas of China reached a quite high level. So adjustment in lifestyle was in urgent need.

This paper examines the relationship between per capita cereal consumption and per capita income in India using the India Human Development Survey 2004-05. It turns out that per capita cereal consumption remains much the same at different levels of per capita income, though it does vary substantially with education levels, household size, occupation patterns and urbanisation. The recent decline of cereal consumption over time may reflect changes in these non-income factors. While cereal consumption seems unrelated to per capita income, it is positively related to per capita expenditure. Possible interpretations of this contrast are briefly discussed.
