Abstract:
Yunnan is the most important birthplace and development center of the camellia in the world. “Yunnan camellia is said to be the best in the world” since ancient times. For centuries all peoples in Yunnan have planted, enjoyed and praised the camellia constantly. In our lives the camellia is strongly impressed on us and forms a continuous camellia culture.Keywords:

The occurrence condition of pests and diseases in major production areas of oil camellia(Camellia oleifera Abel)in Guangxi Province of China was preliminarily investigated from 2010 to 2012.The investigation results showed that there were seven species of major pests on oil camellia in Guangxi Province,including six species of leaf pests,one species of branch pest and one species of fruit pest;there were seven species of major diseases on oil camellia.It was the first report that Mytilaspis camelliae(Hoke)and Empoasca pivisuga Matumura could damage C.oleifera.The occurrence status of pests and diseases on oil camellia in Guangxi Province was summarized,and suggestions for prevention and control against pests and diseases were also put forward.

With the rapidly expanding of Camellia oleifera cultivation area in Anhui province,its diseases become increasingly prominent.Through years of observation,more than twenty diseases were found in Anhui Camellia oleifera plantations.Fifteen of them which are common and causing serious damage are outlined for their occurrence,damage and identifying characteristics in this paper.

Based on the analysis of the status of Camellia oleifera resource in Longsheng County,Guangxi Province,this paper summed up the problems in development of Camellia oleifera industry,raised some suggestion and countermeasures for the industrial development of Camellia oleifera in the future.

Camellia L.is a tropic Asia plant including some plants of economic value like tea,tea oil and common ornamental flower camellia.The genus is a rare and endangered plant and becomes a focus of botanical researches.Tetracocca is one belongyni to Ser.Quiqueloculari of Sect.Thea of Subgenus Thea and is an endemic and also important beverage plant only groun in Pubai of Pu'an County,Guizhou Province.This paper discusses and analyzes C.tetracocca's taxonomic characteristics,geographical distribution,habitat,growth condition and renewal of population.In addition,combined with investigation on the spot,relevant complementary opinions were proposed.Prospects were put forward for its application,scientific reference for further research and development.

[Objective]Camellia germplasm resources in Leshan of Sichuan Province were systematically investigated,collected,and sorted to effectively screen,protect,and utilize elite camellia species.[Method]On-site investigation was conducted on camellia varieties in four regions viz.,Ever-green Nursery in Leshan suburb,Mount Emei Wannian Temple,Campus of Leshan Normal University,and Luxin Forest in Leshan City;all the investigated varieties were classified and identified according to their morphological characteristics,such as flower type,color,diameter,leaf shape,flower season,and tree performance.[Result] Altogether 176 samples were collected,in which 63 of them were identified.Besides the previously existed 32 camellia varieties in Leshan,31 varieties were newly supplied.[Conclusion]Up until recently,there is a total of 63 camellia cultivars in Leshan area.

Naidong camellia is a geographic population of Camellia japonica L. distributed in Qingdao area of Shandong province. Among all camellias in China,Naidong camellia is the northernmost distributed camellia. In order to enrich the landscape color and improve the enviromental quality,Naidong camellia was introduced from Qindao area to Beijing and Tianjin areas. The major research conclusions are summarized as follows: Naidong camellia cultivated in windbreak and shadow condition grow normally. As a result,the adaptability of Naidong camellia was evaluated to be the second degree,which means they could be adapted to Beijing and Tianjin areas. It is aslo observed that the drought soil,cold and dry wind and sunburning in winter and spring are the major factors affecting introduction of camellia.

The Camellia cultivation has a long history and in rich resources in Chenxi County.Based on the investigation of Camellia industry development status of Chenxi County,the causes and constraints of the low yield were analyzed in the paper.According to the resource characteristics of the Camellia,the Camellia plantation area in county were separated into four types,and taking the development potential of the Camellia plantation was divided into four major areas.The specific technical measures for the different regions,different types of Camellia plantation of Chenxi County were measured,and thethe proposed policy recommendations for Camellia industrial development also pointed out.
