    Abstract:
The chemical method of potassium states in main cultivated soils in Jilin province showed that potassium supplying potentiality of this three soils were bigger than that of southern soil. The contents of total K in above mentioned three soils all were bigger. The contents of slowly availability potassium were plentiful, the contents of rapidly availability potassium were higher in black soil and Thernozem, but it were lower in Albic.Potassium level of three soils was decided by the kind and amount of K-bearing minerals in soils.
The pH and content of available N,available P,available K and trace elements of different soil samples from the western regions were determined by acidimeter, flame photometry and atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and the effect of planting oat on content of inorganic elements and trace elements in soil was studied to know the soil composition and nutrient content in western region of Jilin province. The results showed that the distribution of available N,P and K was not uniform in alkaline soils, the content of trace elements had no obvious difference and the pH of some soil samples was up to 9.6.Planting oat in alkaline soils was beneficial to soil acidulation, which indicated that planting oat in alkaline soils can provide a certain help for improvement of alkaline soils in western regions of Jilin province.

Coastal soils of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh are developed from marine sediments. Nutrient status was evaluated for four soil profiles of a coastal village to have information on the nutrient supplying capacity of these soils which is necessary for making accurate fertilizer recommendation in the study area. The nutrient status of the soils indicated that they were low in organic carbon (0.007 to 0.058 g kg -1 ), available nitrogen (28 to 247 kg ha -1 ), medium to high in available phosphorus (6.60 to 90.10 kg ha -1 ) and high in available potassium (241 to 2016 kg ha -1 ) while concentration of total nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium varied from 100 to 560, 37 to 325 and 625 to 7500 ppm, respectively. Similar trend in sub-surface distribution of organic carbon and total nitrogen revealed the soils were old alluvial soils except profile 2. Sufficiency in available micronutrient content existed except for zinc. Distribution of total micronutrient within the profile showed lower values on surface than subsurface layers indicating fluvial nature of deposition. Relationship of nutrients with organic carbon and clay content were positive while the acidity of the soils resulted in negative affect on micronutrients except copper. Contribution of parent material was significant in case of total potassium.

The changes of soil nutrition status in Zhejiang province were studied through the investigation of field capacity of four different type soils(blue clayey paddy soil,silt-clayey yellow mottled paddy soil on fluvimarine deposit, paddy field on redeposit of red soil and diluvial gritty loamy paddy soil) in 2008,combined with the soil nutrition census data acquired from the Second National Soil Survey. The results showed that soil pH decreased obviously, which was in need of adjustment. The level of soil organic matter was higher without significant changes. The content of available-P markedly increased, and there were great differences among different soil types. The content of available-K increased significantly as well, but the K-deficiency was still very common in farmlands.
