Abstract:
With introduction of main technical characteristic and the application in 220 t/h boiler of Maoming Thermoelectric Plant, the superiority of CWM as fuel lies in its safety, small area, cheap cost, better operation function and good benefit of environment protection. Besides, this paper describes the problems of technology and application of management on large power station boiler, and shows the profound strategy meaning for the boiler of firing-oil to use CWM.Keywords:

Integrating coal cleaning into a two boiler, pulverized coal-fired/fluidized bed (PC/FBC) power plant can reduce emissions at low cost for both retrofit projects and new power plants. The technology, because it relies on proven equipment and practices, albeit in a novel context, is low risk and near term. Its low cost makes it particularly suitable to retrofit many of the older coal- fired power plants in the US, and also for retrofitting power plants in the less affluent Eastern European and Asian countries that rely on coal for power generation and need to reduce emission but cannot afford scrubbers. In retrofit applications the technology involves a simple coal cleaning plant and the addition of a small fluidized bed boiler with its steam circuitry integrated into the plant's steam cycle. The clean coal stream will be fired in the existing boiler while the fluidized bed will use the low grade (waste) stream from the coal cleaning plant. This paper reports that this approach is particularly applicable to the many power plants along the Ohio River.

A demand of coal as an alternative energy resorse for petroleum is mounting up steadily under Japan's energy policy. Especially, most of recent industrial power station prefer to be designed for coal fired boiler.This paper reports AN OUTLINE OF DESIGN FEATURES AND OPERATION PERFORMANCE ON PULVERIZED COAL FIRED BOILER being widely adopted in these field, and also A FEATURE OF CIRCOFLUID-a new concept with fluidized bed combustion-is also reported.

This article makes a brief introduction to main process and characteristics of the clean coal power-generation technology, and discusses the actuality and development of this technology in our country. The power-generates efficiency of the technology is much higher than that of the traditional machine set, but with less emission of the pollutant. All of these is a direction of the coal-fired power-generation technology.

Many developing countries are opting to rely on coal-fired power mainly due to the abundance of the resource and its economic viability, since the capital needed to build a new coal-fired power plant is not as large as a nuclear power plant. Compared to nuclear power, coal-fired power does not bear the risk of major catastrophe and therefore it will be relevant in the power industry for many years to come. However, the major drawback of coal-fired power plant is the fact that it is not a clean energy prospect and it is considered one of the main contributors to the world’s greenhouse gases. Coal combustion is usually associated with the emission of greenhouse gases such as CO, CO2, NOx, and SO2. One of the main objectives of coal combustion research is to develop techniques that will help power plant operators to utilize coal cleanly and efficiently by adopting coal blending practices. Currently, emission mitigation and boiler cleanliness issues through coal blending process are focusing more on laboratory scale tests and not utilizing actual plant data and behaviour. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the implementation of Coal Combustion Prediction Analysis Tool (CPAT) as a tool to facilitate power plant operator in predicting the impact of individual or blended coal quality. It will provide early predictions on boiler combustion performance related to the coal quality and it will assist the power plant operators preparing for boiler process control optimization. This study will also discuss slagging and fouling factor of different coal type, which are used in one coal-fired power plant in South East Asia.

From the view point of practical use, application of coal slurry for utility boiler is discussed as the following.1. Application status of various kinds of coal slurry is introduced. COM and CWM are more suitable for utility application than others.2. Operating condition of commercialized COM is introduced summarily . Problem of scale up, effect of trace elements and risk of commercialization should be considered when coal slurry is put in practical use.3. Results of 75MW CWM full combustion demonstration test are reported . Technology of CWM in power station has already grown up to practical use . As large amount of qualified CWM is consumed in a utility boiler, it is necessary to make preparation technology matured in near future.4. The direction of CWM application in Japan is studied under the circumstance of low oil price and of low electric power demand growth.
